Today, you'll leave the harbour in Manaus with a speedboat towards the Meeting of Waters, one of the most important natural attractions in the Amazonian region where the rivers Solimões and Negro meet). Afterwards, you'll head to climb a majestic tree located at the Ecological Park of Janauari, where you'll see the treetops from one of the largest species of trees in the forest. You'll then take a trip to the lake of the Victoria Amazonas (giant water lilies) and have lunch before heading back.

Today, you'll take a transfer to the village of Novo Airao where you will board your speed boat to the Xixuau Reserve. You'll then transfer to Xixuau Ecolodge using a speedboat up to the lodge in order to explore the forest! You'll check-in at Xixuau Amazon Ecolodge and for the next week, you will stay in the Xixuau Nature Reserve, in simple bungalows with community members enjoying activities such as forest trekking, canoeing, night walks, piranha fishing and more!

During your stay at Xixuau, you'll be able to embark on a number of day and night-time expeditions by canoe, with local guides, to explore the igapó and igarapé (flooded forest and labyrinthine creeks) and more! Today, you'll try piranha fishing. This is a contemplative experience, where you'll be on a canoe in a region where piranha are usually found, using artisanal fishing rods. If you're lucky, you may catch some fish and be able to take a couple of them home to try yourselves.

Today is another day of exciting activities at Xixuau. You'll trek in the forest, go fishing, swim in the river, camp overnight and much more. One of the options today is forest trekking, where you will be taken into the jungle with a local guide, to learn about the different plant species in the surrounding forest. Learn about medicinal plants, survival techniques, and more. If you're lucky, you'll spot unique fauna too!

Today, for something a little different, you can spend your time in the village, gaining insights into the local culture. You can experience and participate, learning handcrafting with the forest seeds and basket making, or fishing your own food with traditional techniques, making your own Farinha (manioc) or simply staying with the kids at school.

During the high water season (April to September), you can enjoy floating through the flooded forest in a canoe, the igarapés – a magical experience. When the waters go down, beautiful beaches emerge with fine sand and crystal water. Either way, today, you will experience the important rise and fall of the waters in the Amazon, learn more about the transportation in the region, and see a number of different animal and plant species, learning along the way with your local guide.

Today, you'll enjoy your final morning at the Xixuau Amazon Ecolodge before boarding your speedboat back to Novo Airao for your last couple of days. Here, you can either relax near the river or go on tours in the region to visit a different part of the Amazon and stay in one more river community, this one is a bit more developed. At your accommodation, the rooms are simple, but comfortable, with views of the river.

This morning, you'll return to Manaus and embark on a tour with a local guide to explore the city's rich history and unique culture. You will meet your guide near the hotel where you'll get an introduction to Manaus. Throughout the tour, you'll learn about the history of the city and visit important sights like the main church and municipal market, the city's port to watch the rush of fishermen arriving from the morning catch. You'll finish the day enjoying a regional lunch.
