When you arrive in Osaka, you'll be met by your local assistant who will help you collect your JR Passes and accompany you to your hotel. They will explain how transportation in Japan works. Collect your "Pocket WiFi" that will give you high speed and unlimited internet access wherever you are in Japan. You'll activate your Suica prepaid card to be used on JR East trains, metro and buses. Then, you'll travel from the airport to Kyoto where you'll have the rest of the day to explore.

Today, you'll visit the famous Yasaka-Jinja Shrine, as well as a range of must-see attractions within Kyoto with a local guide. You'll visit the Kodai-ji Temple, full of maple and bamboo trees and troll through the Ninenzaka and Sannenzaka alleys that look like they come straight out of a samurai movie, as well as the astonishing Kiyomizu-Dera Temple and walk through Gion District. You'll finish the day at the two of the most important temples in Japan, Higashi Hongen-ji and Nishi Hongen-gi.

Today is yours to enjoy. You could start the day out in Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine, the largest Shinto shrine in Japan. Then, you could discover the Philosopher's Path, a walking trail two kilometres long that follows a canal bordered by hundreds of cherry trees joining the Ginkaku Ji Silver Pavilion. Next, you could stroll through the Pontocho District and enjoy its unique atmosphere before finishing the day with a stroll along Kiyamachi-dori street.

Today, you'll set off with your guide to discover the riches of Takao, northwest of Kyoto for a gentle and pleasant hike. The hike will lead you to Kozan-ji Temple, then continue along the river lined with maple trees where you cross a small arched bridge leading to a second temple. The next temple along your way is Jingo-ji Temple, perched on a small plateau overlooking the valley. After about an hour and a half of walking, you'll arrive at the mythical bamboo plantation of Arashiyama.

Today, you'll travel from Kyoto to Nara by train to explore its sights. You'll stroll through the large park in the city of Nara, discover the Kasuga Taisha Shrine with its buildings painted in vermilion red and visit the large Todai-ji Temple, home to the Daibutsu-den building, which houses a monumental Big Buddha. You'll admire the magnificent Nigatsu-Do Temple built on wooden stilts and visit the Hokke-Do Temple also called Sangatsu-do, the oldest building in Todai-ji.

After your walk, relax while visiting the mystic Okunoin cemetry and the buddhist temple Kongubu-ji. This temple is listed as a UNESCO worldheritage site.
