Welcome to Siem Reap, the gateway to the ruins of Angkor, the seat of the Khmer kingdom from the 9th–15th centuries. Angkor’s vast complex of intricate stone buildings includes preserved Angkor Wat, the main temple, which is pictured on Cambodia’s flag. Giant, mysterious faces are carved into the Bayon Temple at Angkor Thom. You have a choice of treatments in a Zen-like setting just off the riverfront.

Banteay Srei is a 10th-century Cambodian temple dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva and has elaborate stone carvings. Banteay Samre Named after the Samré, an ancient people of Indochina. Its single ogival tower is immediately recognizable as Angkor Wat style. Angkor Thom literally: "Great City", was the last and most enduring capital city of the Khmer empire. Angkor Thom is in the Bayon style with naga-carrying giant figures accompany each of the towers.

A trip to Koh Ker brings you deep into the Cambodian countryside and way back in time. Beng Mealea was almost forgotten by the local population. This little-explored temple is largely overrun by vegetation. Constructed in a distinctly Angkor Wat style and may have served as a prototype of sorts for Angkor Wat. Continue your 10-day Cambodia itinerary with a visit to the Silk Farm at Pouk. Learn about silkworm farming, cocoon unwinding, preparation of the silk threads, ikat technique (tie-dyeing of the threads) and silk weaving. Banteay Chmar is an immense temple complex left to the jungle for years, revealing superb carvings on its outer walls. Eventually arrive in Battambang, a popular tourist destination due to the many nearby ancient temples, Buddhist shrines and the infamous bamboo railway.

Today we start with a fishy tour. We learn all about the process and preserving fish into salted fish and fish paste. Once we leave the bamboo train station we will drive through some small villages to Wat Kor and meet the owner of one the wooden houses. Phnom Sampov is a striking limestone mountain. On top of Sampov, there are three main caves full of uprooted stones and considered important for local residents to come after wedding celebrations. There are also many popular folktales.

Today, you'll drive to the capital, Phnom Penh which will take the whole day. You'll stop at a small countryside village famous for its clay pottery, called Kampong Chhnang. Discover Udong in a hilly setting, this old capital of the Khmer Kingdom, from 1618 to 1866, remains, despite recent destructions, one of the most treasured sites for Cambodians, and finally arrive in the capital early evening.

Explore the Royal Palace, Silver Pagoda and National Arts Museum by cyclo. After lunch a grim, but important visit that will allow you to dig below the surface and understand Cambodia better at the Tuol Sleng museum. End the day with a visit to the city’s namesake, Wat Phnom. Founded in 1373, the pagoda was built to house Buddhist relics washed ashore by the river. Stroll around the river at night and find somewhere to eat.
