On this ten-day adventure, you'll explore Chile's cosmopolitan capital, Santiago, and its contrasting neighbourhoods before you embark on the W trek and get lost in Patagonia’s grandness with its soaring peaks and glaciers.

Torres del Paine National Park boasts jaw-dropping landscapes filled with turquoise lagoons, glaciers, and towering granite horns. On the five-day W Trek, you'll become one with nature as you immerse yourself completely into its beauty on a trekking adventure, the best way to explore the UNESCO Reserve.

Today, you'll leave Santiago and drive to Tabolango. From here, you'll drive inland towards the valleys until you reach Olmué and visit the rural town’s main square. Then, you'll drive to Granizo, the town located at the foot of La Campana Hill, and you'll start your hike in a reserve that is a magnet for nature lovers. You'll walk along the paths and appreciate the endemic flora, native trees, birds, and other animals that live here.

This morning, you'll be driven to the Santiago airport. Upon arrival in Punta Arenas, you'll take a public bus towards Puerto Natales. During the 248-kilometre drive, you'll appreciate the spectacular Patagonian landscapes. Puerto Natales is your gateway to the famous Torres del Paine National Park and to outdoor activities like trekking, kayaking, mountain biking, hiking and more. Upon arrival, you will be picked up from the bus station and driven to your hotel in Puerto Natales.

Torres del Paine National Park boasts jaw-dropping landscapes filled with turquoise lagoons, glaciers, and towering granite horns. Become one with nature as you immerse yourself completely into its beauty on a trekking adventure, the best way to explore the UNESCO Reserve. Today, you'll take the two-hour bus to Laguna Amarga. After filling out the paperwork upon arrival, you'll then be transferred to your first accommodation.

    Upon arrival to Laguna Amarga, all travellers must get off of the bus and visit the CONAF Administration Office where they will follow all protocol necessary to enter the park; the park entrance fee is included in the cost of this tour. Having finished the paperwork, travellers will board the transfer vehicles that belong to Transportes Las Torres and which will take them to the sector surrounding the Cerro Paine Ranch and then on to The Welcome Centre of their first accommodation site.

The first stage of today's trek begins with an ascending drive for about 1.5 hours, with beautiful views of the surrounding lakes. After checking in at Refugio El Chileno, you'll leave your main luggage and begin the climb with a small rucksack. You will cross a millennium-old forest of lenga trees, then you'll ascend for 45 minutes to one of the site’s most magnificent areas, Base Torres Lookout, from where the imposing Torre Sur, Torre Central and Glacier Torre can all be appreciated.

Day 6

Today's trek is a moderate trek around the Macizo Paine, circling the base of Mount Almirante Nieto. From Refugio El Chileno, you'll arrive at the Atajo, a path that continues to Refugio Los Cuernos. Along the journey, you can take in the incredible sites of Lake Nordenskjöld, the hanging glaciers and local flora. After a five-hour walk, you will arrive in Los Cuernos, which is considered by many as one of the most welcoming spots along the entire circuit.

Day Four of W Trek: Trekking to the French Valley

The first two hours are fairly light with views of Lake Nordenskjöld until you arrive at Camp Italiano. The climb begins from the valley of River Francés and continues all the way up to the Francés Glacier Lookout. From there, the climb continues along the path until you arrive at the Británico Lookout, which offers one of the national park’s most impressive landscape views. The return trek follows the same path down and then onwards to the sector known as Pehoé.

Day Five of W Trek, Round Trek to Grey Glacier & Return Trip to Puerto Natales

After 1.5 hours of trekking this morning, you will reach the first lookout, where it’s possible to observe the glacier at a distance. You'll then follow a path that circles the west bank of Lake Grey. After two hours, you will reach the main lookout with spectacular views of Grey Glacier, Cordón Olguín and the ice flows. The return journey follows the same path. At the pier, you'll take a ferry across Lake Pehoé, disembarking at Pudeto where your transfer will take you back to Puerto Natales.

This morning, you will be picked up from your hotel in Puerto Natales and driven to the bus station. You will then be driven from Puerto Natales to Punta Arenas airport by public bus. Next, you'll take a three-hour flight from Punta Arenas to Santiago. You will be welcomed at the airport and driven to your hotel in Santiago.
