Start your safari in Kenya by arriving at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) where you will be met outside arrivals by your driver. Driving north for approximately four hours through the fertile lands and coffee plantations of the Kikuyu tribe, will take you into the Laikipia region.

Set off after breakfast today for a full day in the world-renowned Ol Pejeta Conservancy. In the morning, you'll learn about the various conservation projects that Ol Pejeta lead as well as meeting some orphaned chimpanzees. Stop for a picnic lunch beneath a tree in the conservancy before continuing on an afternoon game drive to see the last remaining northern white rhinos and prides of lions.

Leave Laikipia shortly after breakfast and take a three-hour drive to Nyahururu where you can stretch your legs while visiting Thomson's Falls before lunch. Back in the car, it will be another two-hour drive down the side of the escarpment into Nakuru town and onwards to the vast plains of Lake Nakuru National Park.

Fly to Masai Mara

You will leave Kembu after an early breakfast and drive south through the Great Rift Valley to the shores of Lake Naivasha. Here, you will catch a scheduled flight to the Masai Mara and be transferred to the campsite. Take an afternoon game drive in the world-famous Masai Mara and relax by the fire with a drink before dinner.

Full Day on Safari in the Masai Mara

Leave at dawn to explore the surrounding Mara plains. Perhaps stop for a picnic breakfast beneath an acacia tree or return to camp to relax in the early afternoon. In the late afternoon, head out again for a walk or game drive. The park is filled with wildlife, you may even have the opportunity to see the wildebeest migration if you are here at the right time of year.

Throughout the day, there are always interesting activities going on. Guests are welcome to walk around the estate, help with day-to-day jobs which may include spraying the cattle, beekeeping, tree planting or helping the scouts in the conservation work. There are daily scheduled guided walks at House in the Wild too. No matter what you choose to do, make sure you are back at the house in time for your sundowner session to catch one last sunset.
