In the morning, you'll do a sightseeing tour of Luang Prabang, you'll visit some of the main spots including Wat Sene, Wat Xieng Thong and the Traditional Art & Ethnology Centre while learning about the city and its history. Spend the afternoon at the Kuang Si Waterfalls where you'll walk climb and swim you way past several azure pools that lead up to the source of the waterfall before returning to Laos.

Join the boat upstream on the mighty Mekong to Kamu Lodge. Visit the mysterious Pak Ou Caves along the way. In the afternoon, we join in the activities at Kamu Lodge including rice planting and harvesting, rice milling, net fishing, gold panning, bamboo weaving, archery and visiting Ban Nioy Hai village. Lunch and dinner will be served at a hut in the middle of the rice fields.

Wake up early to admire the sunrise over the Mekong and mountains. We will have a full day cruise upstream the Mekong River to Pakbeng. Along the way, admire the scenery and the life by the banks of the Mekong River, play some games, read books or just relax. Today's journey is long, so when you arrive, you'll want to relax at the hotel.

After breakfast, take the motorboat crossing the Mekong River to the Mekong Elephant Camp, where you have the option to feed them. After that, we take the 4-hour transfer to Muang Xay and continue a further 20 minutes to Namkat Yorla Pa. There is ample time today to explore Namkat waterfalls, which is hidden inside the virgin rainforest a 30-minute walk away.

After breakfast transfer to Muang La. From there, follow the small village path, via the river and small streams exploring nature, green fields and local life. Total 5-hour walk, but there are plenty of chances for rest stops. We then transfer to Muang Khua for the night where you can explore this small town that has become popular with backpackers.

Explore the local village nearby Muang Khua, then take the cruise downstream the Nam Ou river to Ban Sopchem, a beautiful weaving village, that still keeps a traditional way of life as their ancestors did hundreds of years ago. We will join the Baci ceremony, held by the elders of the village, who wish you health and good luck. Dinner will be shared with the host family.

Continue the cruise downstream the Nam Ou River to Nong Khiaw. Along the way, we will explore Muang Ngoi, the fishing village in the middle of nowhere, walk to the remote village of Ban Na and the holy caves of Tham Kaang. There is also the chance to visit Ban Sopkong and Ban Sopvan before reaching our destination while the sun is setting.

This is a full-day exploring the famous 100 waterfalls, hidden inside the virgin forest in Northern Laos. This trek is the highlight of the activities in Nong Khiaw and will really get your adrenaline pumping as you battle against the water. There is also the chance to visit a nearby local village to see life along the Nam Ou river one last time.
