Today, you'll arrive at Rio de Janeiro's international airport. You will be met by your driver-guide who will take you to your hotel in the Laranjeiras neighbourhood. After checking in, you'll have the rest of the day free to spend as you wish. Your hotel is set in a lovely neighbourhood which is within access to plenty of landmarks within the city.

Today, you'll set out with a guide to explore some of the most famous parts of this vibrant city. You'll start the morning at Christ the Redeemer and be one of the first to get to the foot of the statue. Afterwards, you'll head to the city's southern shore, where you'll stop at a local farmer's market to taste tropical Brazillian Fruit. After lunch at Parque Lage in the atrium of a historic mansion, you'll finish the day at the Botanical Gardens strolling through the hall of imperial palm trees.

Day 4

Today, you'll start the day by exploring one of the city's most iconic sights, the Sugarloaf Mountain. You can opt to take the cable car or get some exercise in and hike to the top of the mountain. If you choose to hike, you can take the cable car back down instead of walking. In the evening, you'll conclude your wonderful stay in Rio de Janeiro by sailing at sunset along the iconic Guanabara Bay.

Today, you'll pick up your rental car and drive to Teresopolis, a village nestled in the green mountains of the Serrana Region. Not only does Serra dos Orgaos National Park boast breathtaking scenes of natural beauty, but the historic towns of Teresopolis and Petropolis also provide travellers with a wealth of fascinating history. After checking in, you'll head out on a brewery and taste some of the local beers.

The Cartao Postal Trail is a day-long hike where you'll wander through an enchanting forest, wash your feet in magnificent waterfalls and venture across a suspension bridge high up in the jungle treetops. The ultimate viewpoint on the trail overlooks the Serra dos Orgaos, a mountain range which resembles the pipes of organs in cathedrals.

After breakfast, you'll enjoy a free morning in Teresopolis exploring the cafes and shops. Then, you'll pick you rental car up and make your way to Paraty, a scenic four-hour drive away. You'll arrive in time for a late lunch and check-in. After getting settled, you'll make your way into the town for a walking tour of the historical centre. After the tour, you'll enjoy a culinary workshop with a local chef who will tell you all about the city's history and origins through food.

Today, you'll take a self-drive trip to the beautiful beach village of Trindade, home to five beautiful, distinctive beaches. Originally a caicara fishing village, Trindade sits on perfect, palm-fringed crescents of golden sand and turquoise waters. Here you can enjoy some time to relax after a busy couple of days hiking and driving. If you're feeling up for the challenge, you can take the 30-minute jungle trek to the natural pool at the end of the coastline.

Today, you'll learn more about Caicara culture. Caicaras tend to be represented as traditional, isolated and self-sufficient in fishing. From Praia Grande, you'll take a boat to the quaint Araujo Island and lift the lid off the culture of Caicara inhabitants. You'll take a walk to explore the island, devour some fresh seafood and on the way back to Paraty, you'll stop at two more beaches and the Morro do Forte to enjoy a beautiful sunset with views of the village.
