On this Italy 11 day itinerary, travel from the magically rugged Cinque Terre to the 'Eternal City' of Rome, through the 'Cradle of Renaissance' that is Florence.

Beginning in Levanto, the gateway to the Cinque Terre, you'll spend your first few days getting to know this beautiful coastline dotted with lemon groves, vineyards and beautiful fishing towns. After some much-needed beach time, you'll hop on a train to Florence, renowned as one of the most cultural and historical cities in the world. You'll spend your days exploring the historical streets and marvelling at the amazing architecture before once again moving on.

The 'Eternal City' or the 'City of Romance', Rome goes by many names which capture the cultural, artistic or ancient atmosphere of this wonderful city. In this spectacular city, nothing beats sitting in a busy square admiring the historical structures and watching the world go by, like a true Roman.

Today, you can take a walk on the spectacular path among olive groves and ancient hamlets in Levanto. This charming seaside hamlet is littered with pine forests, long sandy beaches and restaurants with beautiful ocean views, capturing the true essence of the south. From Levanto, you can discover the neighbouring village Bonassola, with another beautiful beach, and continue to the National Park of Cinque Terre. The hike is of a moderate level and will take approximately four hours.

Gallerie dell'Accademia Florence is a sought after destination famous for its statues and sculptures by the great Renaissance artist, Michelangelo. Towards the end of the 18th century, several rooms from various buildings including the old hospital of San Mateo and the old monastery of San Nicolás de Cafaggio were bought together to house this museum dedicated to Michelangelo. The most famous sculptures include Prisoners, St. Matthew and, of course, the magnificent statue of David.
