Explore the mother city on a Cairo tour and enjoy a host of cultural highlights such as the Giza Plateau and the Great Pyramids of Giza - the eternal miracle of history. You'll also dive into the local culture and learn all about ancient Egypt whilst visiting the Egyptian Antiquities and Islamic Museums as well as Coptic Cairo.

Next, you'll travel to Aswan in upper Egypt where you'll receive a warm welcome in a special ecolodge before starting your Nubian adventure by boat. This five-day boat trip on Lake Nasser will lead you to highlights of history like Amada Temple and the Abu Simbel Temples.

Welcome to your Cairo tour, your gateway to sun and fun. Upon arrival at Cairo airport, you will be met by your guide and assisted with visa formalities and luggage collection, then transfer to your hotel. Your cosy hotel is located in a green area of Cairo in Maadi, where you can easily go shopping, for coffee or a walk. The rest of the day is free for you to relax or explore Cairo at your leisure; your guide will provide recommendations.

Your adventure begins with exploring the last remaining wonder of the ancient world; standing for nearly 4000 years, the extraordinary Giza Pyramids. An Egyptologist tour guides will be accompanying you on this and all of your other sightseeing tours. You'll then stop by a nearby restaurant to enjoy delicious Egyptian food. Following on from the Pyramids, you'll then head to the Citadel, one of the world's greatest monuments to medieval warfare.

Today, you'll begin your journey on the right bank of the Nile opposite the Island of Roda where Old Cairo, often called the Coptic quarter, is located. As the name already says, here are the first settled areas of Cairo. The historical area is home to a beautiful collection of churches, mosques and synagogues, all in close proximity. If you wish to dig deeper into the neighbourhood, the Nilometer is worth a visit. At night, a Nile felucca or the famous "Tanoura Show" are optional activities.

No Egypt tour is complete without a visit to the Egyptian Museum in Cairo. With over 120,000 artefacts, the museum houses an unbelievable exhibit depicting ancient Egypt's glorious reign. Mummies, sarcophagi, pottery, jewellery and King Tutankhamen's treasures, it's all there. The boy king's death-mask is made of solid gold and it has been described as the most beautiful object ever made. In the evening, you'll also be able to experience the sound and light show at the Pyramids.

The last day of your Cairo tour will begin with a visit to the spectacular Museum of Islamic Art. The museum hosts more than 100,000 displays reflecting the greatness of the Islamic civilisation in Egypt and the whole Islamic world; how it has flourished and changed throughout history. Following the museum, you will have some free time exploring Khan El Khalili Bazaar before heading to the Ramses Train Station to take a sleeper train to Aswan.

This morning, you will arrive in Aswan. After disembarking from your sleeper train, you will head to your UNWTO prize-awarded lodge on Bigeh Island where you'll enjoy a very delicious breakfast along the Nile River. Then your tour guide will take you to visit the Nubian Museum where you will be introduced to the history, art and culture of Nubia. Your evening will be free to enjoy Aswan's market and wander the Corniche on the banks of the Nile.

Starting today and for the next five days, you will cruise on the great Lake Nasser, not with one of those luxury cruisers, but on a smaller luxury boat, better to navigate along the mainstream. Each day, you'll enjoy a one-hour hike around Lake Nasser. Today, you'll also visit Kalabsha Temple sail to Abu Simbel.

After an early breakfast, you'll start your sailing journey for the day on Lake Nasser. You will reach Wadi El Sebou Temple by noontime to visit this ancient temple. After the temple, you will then sail to your next destination whilst enjoying lunch onboard. Then, you'll stop for a short hiking trip from the temple to a certain spot where the boat will meet you once again. Finally, you'll get back on board to enjoy dinner and spend the night sailing on the lake.

Today, you will cruise along to reach the oldest temple ever discovered in Nubia, the Temple of Amada where your Egyptologist guide will take you on a tour into the temple's amazing hallways. You will then sail to your next destination whilst enjoying lunch onboard. In the evening, you will arrive at Qasr Ibrim, the ancient Nubian fortress that was built on a high hill overlooking the Nile opposite from Aniba village. The boat will park near Qasr Ibrim where you will have dinner.

Today, you will once again visit the complex of Abu Simple temples after a long and leisurely sail from your previous overnight point on Lake Nasser. Following lunch on the boat, you'll have the option to head to the Abu Simbel Temples at night where you can enjoy a beautiful sound and light show and gaze in awe as these ancient monuments are lit up. After having dinner on board, you'll wind down and enjoy the peacefulness before spending your final night onboard.

This morning, you'll have another chance to explore the magnificent temples of Abu-Simbel. The temple was saved from the rising waters of Lake Nasser, growing behind the Aswan Dam, in a massive archaeological rescue plan sponsored by UNESCO in the 1960s. After lunch in Aswan, you will get onto the bus heading to Aswan airport for your departure flight to Cairo airport in the evening.
