This epic 11-day trip to Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe is the full safari experience; discover the animals and landscapes that these three beautiful countries have to offer. This self-drive adventure starts in Namibia, a country nearly twice the size of France but with a population of only two million people.

After leaving the vast desert and scrublands of Namibia, you'll make your way into Botswana with its diverse and stunning landscapes where you will experience an abundance of game viewing opportunities with beasts such as lion, leopard, hippo, crocodiles and elephants on the Okavango Delta.

Finally, you'll make your way across the border to Zimbabwe where a nature lovers playground awaits. Visit Victoria Falls and choose your way of exploring the mighty Smoke That Thunders - a once-in-a-lifetime experience that cannot be missed!

Upon arrival in Windhoek, you'll make your way to the car rental kiosk to collect your car for the start of your trip. Then, you'll drive to your hotel in Windhoek. You'll have the option to visit the nature reserve within your hotel if you have time.

Day 2

Your first-day drive is 435 kilometres, so it is advisable to make an early start to have some time in Etosha Park before sunset. Okaukuejo's floodlit waterhole attracts a large amount of game, so you are likely to see antelope as well as zebra, giraffe, elephant, rhino and maybe a lion. You have three nights here, two in the park and the last night at a private lodge on the eastern edge of the park. Game viewing is conducted in your own vehicle but guided tours can also be arranged.

There are numerous roads that link the waterholes around Etosha pan and you can explore these at your own leisure throughout the day. If you are very keen to get as many animal sightings as possible, you could drive out again in the evening and spend time at the spotlit waterhole to watch the animals quenching their thirst before the sunsets.

Day 4

Eastern Etosha Game Viewing

Today is another day of game viewing. From Okaukuejo, it takes at least a couple of hours to get to your accommodation on the eastern side of the park, particularly if you spot anything interesting along the way. You can either decide to continue driving yourselves around for the day and use the lodge as an overnight stop or you can arrange an afternoon guided game drive with the lodge.

Today you have a six-hour drive to the Caprivi Strip where you spend the night en route to the Okavango. Rundu is a good place to stop for lunch if you are en route to the Caprivi Strip. The resort is built on the Okavango river banks, next to the magnificent Popa Falls. The Mahango National Game Park is just a 10-minute drive and Buffalo Game Park is just 20 minutes away, both are part of the strip. You have fantastic opportunities to see elephant, buffalo and deer such as sable and waterbuck.

Day 6

Today's drive to Maun is 430 kilometres. You are advised to leave the lodge early to be in Maun by midday, where you'll drop off your car at the airport and board a flight to Xakanaxa Airstrip in Botswana, where you'll connect with a short game drive from the airstrip to Xakanaxa Boat Station. At the boat station, your guide from Xobega Island Camp will pick you up in a motorboat. You'll enjoy the 1.5-hour boat cruise through the Delta waterways to Xobega Island.

Today, you'll enjoy a fun-filled day of safari and adventures on the water in the Okavango Delta. This morning will start with an early wake up call. You'll depart for a long-boat cruise through the Okavango Delta, filled with vibrant wildlife. You'll freshen up before lunch and relax, then high tea is served before your sunset cruise complete with sundowners to end the day. After your sunset cruise, return to camp to enjoy the campfire and a 3-course dinner with other travellers.

Day 8

Okavango to Victoria Falls

Today, you'll rise early for your departure from Xobega Island Camp after breakfast. Take the 1.5-hour boat cruise from Xobega Island back to Xakanaxa boat station where you will connect with a game viewer to transfer you to Xakanaxa Airstrip, only a short drive away. Here, you will connect with your air transfer out of Moremi to Kasane. A road trip across the border takes you from Botswana to Zimbabwer to the mighty Victoria Falls.

Today you have the day at leisure where you can explore the Victoria Falls on your own or do some of the optional tours. Don your walking shoes to explore the many trails around the Smoke That Thunders. You may wish to learn some of the history behind the area. To end the day, a truly memorable experience would be to opt for a sunset cruise on the mighty Zambezi River, where you'll have a sundowner in hand as you watch the sun disappearing behind this vast body of water.

Today you can enjoy a day at leisure. You can explore on your own, or fill your day with some of the many activities on offer. For a true once-in-a-lifetime experience, choose to take a helicopter flight over the Victoria Falls. Take in the jaw-dropping scenery of the falls from a bird's eye view as you witness the dramatic view of thousands of tonnes of water cascading over the sheer cliff face. Alternatively, you could visit a nearby village to learn more about Zimbabwe's many cultures.
