On your arrival at Kolkata International Airport, you will be greeted warmly by your representative, who will give you a short brief on a tour of the city. Kolkata is the cultural capital of India, where rich cultural heritage can be experienced in daily life. The city is well known for its massive colonial architecture and art galleries. In the evening, you'll have the option to head out on a sunset cruise on the Ganges, visiting a temple.

The morning, after breakfast, you'll drive to Kolkata airport as per your flight schedule and fly to Bagdogra. On arrival at Bagdogra board, your pre-waited vehicle will collect you and drive you to Gangtok, a fairytale capital in the clouds. Gangtok balances precariously on Steep Mountain slopes, surrounded by lush rice terraces, swifts flowing rivers and distant snow views. You'll have the evening free to explore Mall Road and the local market.

Day 3

Today you will take rest from walking and will do a full-day tour in Gangtok by car with visiting the most attractive points of the city. With a private car and local guide, you'll visit Rumtek Monastery, the Research Institute of Tibetology and Do DrulChorten before a break for lunch. After lunch, you'll continue your tour to the Government Institute of Cottage Industries (GICI), Tashi Viewpoint and you'll finish the day exploring Lal Bazaar before returning to your hotel.

Today you will drive to Lachen. At an altitude of 8500 feet, Lachen is alluring in its simplicity. It retains a very appealing freshness. The village comprises of less than 200 houses. Lachen is the starting point for some of the most exciting treks in North Sikkim as well as the gateway to the holy Guru Dongmar and Tso Lhamu lakes. En route, you will visit Singhik, Seven Sister waterfalls and the Chungthang confluence.

Today, you'll visit Thangu and Choptavalley, two attractions within Lachen and the surrounding valley. Thangu, situated at an altitude of 13,500 feet is about two hours drive from Lachen. Chopta Valley is a 10-minute drive from Thangu and provides one of the few accessible places in Sikkim where visitors can walk over the frozen river. After lunch at the hotel, you'll drive to Lachung, a picturesque mountain village, at the height of 8675 feet, embraced by snow-capped mountain peaks.

Early in the morning, you'll drive to Yumthang, situated at the height of 11800 feet is popularly known as 'Valley of Flowers'. Located at a distance of 25 kilometres from Lachung, it is a paradise for nature lovers with a fascinating blend of flora and fauna and breathtaking scenic beauty. On the way back, you'll visit the handicraft centre which has exquisitely-woven rugs and blankets. After lunch, you'll drive to Dzongu, an area reserved for the Lepchas, the original inhabitants of Sikkim.

While in Dzongu, it is suggested that you spend your time in exploring this untouched area and understanding its beautiful inhabitants. Today after breakfast, you will drive to Rumtek. In the hill facing Gangtok, is Rumtek, a quiet getaway home to the Rumtek Monastery. On arrival, you'll check-in at your eco-hotel. This is a traditional Sikkimese resort with spectacular views of Gangtok and the Nathula range. In the afternoon, you can stroll around the resort or take a short walk to the village.

Today you'll visit Rumtek Monastery. You will walk to the largest Monastery in Sikkim which demonstrates the best of Tibetan architecture and is an almost replica of the original Monastery in Tsurpuin, Tibet. Later, you'll visit Himalayan Zoological Park by car. If you are lucky, you might see the Red Panda, Sikkim's state animal, the Barking Deer, Tibetan wolves, panthers, Civet cats or even the Himalayan Black Bear. You'll then head back to your hotel and have the afternoon free to explore.

This morning, you'll transfer four hours to Bagdogra by private car, to board the flight to Kolkata. On arrival, you'll meet your driver and transfer to your hotel in Kolkata. After checking in, you'll be free to spend your final night in Eastern India however you wish. This is the perfect time to take a stroll in the local market to absorb the city and buy some souvenirs.
