Over 11 days, travel through Peru sightseeing & exploring, beginning your journey in Lima - the culinary capital of Latin America!

You will then continue to Arequipa, known as the "White City" to explore and learn about this beautiful city which overlooks the volcanoes of Misti, Chachani and Pichu Picchu. You'll then travel to Puno passing by the wonderful Colca Canyon and its majestic condors.

Finally, you'll head to Cusco and enjoy the beautiful landscapes surrounding the Sacred Valley of the Incas. You will begin your Peru sightseeing tour in Lima. Upon arrival at the capital of Peru, you will be transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day remains at leisure for you to explore the city on your own. You may want to visit the historic centre of Lima and explore its colonial-style Roman Catholic Cathedral. Your guide will be able to give you recommendations of what to do, what to see, and where to eat.

This morning after breakfast, you'll be taken to the airport to board a domestic flight to Arequipa and start exploring the "White City". After checking in, you'll head out on a city tour of Arequipa, beginning with the Carmen Alto viewpoint, located on the right side of Chili river that divides Arequipa into two parts. You'll then visit the Yanahuara district, a traditional neighbourhood with beautiful narrow and old fashion streets, and the Saint Catalina Monastery.

Day 3

Travel to Colca

Today, you will head toward the main village of Colca Canyon, Chivay. On the way, you'll stop many times to appreciate the different views and local fauna. Here, you'll vicuñas which, unlike alpacas, are wild animals that can be seen running freely on these high plateaus. You'll continue into the Colca Canyon to the little restaurant of Viscachani where you can enjoy the stunning scenery of the Andes. In the afternoon, you'll have the option to bathe at the Hot Springs La Caldera.

Today, you'll travel deeper into the Colca Canyon to the "Cruz del Condor" to observe the enigmatic overflight of these Andean birds, the condors. From this viewpoint, you'll be able to see the true depth of the canyon and observe these beautiful birds as they swoop down and fly in front of you through the canyon. You will make many stops for photos and your local guide will give you insight into the Colca Canyon history. The rest of the day is free to spend as you wish.

From Colca Canyon to Puno

Today after breakfast, you'll leave the Colca Canyon behind and travel along the high Andean plateau to the shores of Lake Titicaca. This journey takes around four hours and offers fine views of little lakes located along the road. Upon your arrival in Puno, you will be dropped off at your hotel located on the shores of the Titicaca Lake. The rest of the day will be free for you to explore your surroundings and relax at the hotel.

Today, you'll take a full day tour by boat to the Uros Floating Islands and Taquile Island where you will learn about the Andean culture. The lake contains numerous islands whose inhabitants continue to live as their ancestors have in custom and tradition. Centuries ago, the small indigenous Uros tribe conceived of the islands as a way to isolate and protect themselves from rival tribes, the Collas and the Incas. You'll also visit the Island of Taquile, known for the kindness of its residents.

Today, you will be mesmerised by the views of Sacred Valley of the Incas as you continue your journey taking the touristic train to Aguas Calientes. You'll leave Cusco behind and begin the day with a Sacred Valley tour, visiting the colourful market town of Pisac followed by a drive along the Urubamba River towards the town of Ollantaytambo, a magnificent example of Incan urban planning. You'll finish the day exploring the Ollantaytambo before checking into your hotel.

Today, you'll catch a train to Aguas Calientes. This train ride to Machu Picchu is one of the most beautiful journeys that visitors can experience in this country. After passing the Sacred Valley of the Incas, the train starts to descend gradually along the edge of the Urubamba River, till finally reaching the cloud forest. After approximately one hour and 45 minutes, you will arrive in Aguas Calientes town where you'll have the rest of the day free to explore.

Today will be a big day! You'll visit the archaeological site of Machu Picchu and learn why the Incas were one of the most important cultures in the Americas! Covering an area of 37,302 hectares, the National Archaeological Park of Machu Picchu is a truly spectacular sight which leaves visitors with their mouths agape. After the visit, you will return to Cusco by train and by van with a camera full of pictures and a heart full of memories.
