Today you will embark on a full-day tour of this coastal town. You'll visit the Dutch Palace, the Jewish Synagogue, St. Francis Church and the Santa Cruz Basilica. While driving along the coastline, you'll be able to see the famous Chinese fishing nets, which were introduced by the Chinese traders in the 14th century. The tour ends in the Fort Kochi area where you can walk through the historical Dutch and Portuguese buildings. In the evening watch a traditional Kathakali dance show.

After breakfast this morning, check-out from your hotel in Kochi and travel by road to the hill station of Munnar, an idyllic haven of crisp mountain air and tea. The journey will take around four hours, and once you arrive and check in to your hotel, you'll have the afternoon free to do some exploring. Munnar is famed for its lush green hills and beautiful mountainous landscapes.

Today take an excursion to Eravikulam National Park. Located along the Western Ghats, the park has the largest viable population of the Nilgiri Tahr, a specific type of goat endemic to the area. The park also has other animals such as ruddy mongoose, small-clawed otters, dusky striped squirrels, Sambar Deer and Golden Jackals. There are many species of birds in the park too, making it a wildlife haven!

This morning you will make the four-hour drive to Alleppey and check in to your antique houseboat. Your houseboat will carry you slowly down palm-hung waterways, past backwater settlements of thatched and tiled cottages, bright with cartons and hibiscus. You set your own pace: stopping where you like, resting when you like, and indulging yourself with the freshest of foods bought from the farmers and fishermen on the banks of the backwaters.
