Trip Overview

Embark on a journey through the less-travelled Central Japan and Shikoku Island on this eleven-day tour!

Beginning in Takahashi city, you'll explore this historic town and its former samurai residences. You'll then spend a day at Fukiya Furusato village, known for its red-ochre-coloured houses and Tetta Winery, an unlikely place to find a winery but one which flourishes.

Moving on, you'll travel to Takamatsu via Okayama City, stopping to visit Korakuen Garden and the Okayama Castle. The next day, you'll take a day trip to Naoshima, known as the 'Art Island'. After a day trip to Sodoshima, to see the Nakayama Senmaida Rice Terraces, you'll travel to Kochi via Kotohira.

Moving on, you'll find yourself in the home of the famous Matsuyama Castle and Dogo Onsen. A day trip to Ozu will remind you of Kyoto but in a tranquil, countryside setting. Finally, you'll travel to Imbari and spend your last two days cycling the Shimanami Kaido, a 60-kilometre-long toll road that passes over several smaller islands in the Seto Inland Sea connecting Japan's main island of Honshu with Shikoku.

Travel to Japan on this trip to learn about the rich culture and history as well as ticking off some key landmarks and admiring its natural beauty!
