Trip Overview

Spend twelve exciting days filled with fun on this beautiful paradise island on your Sri Lanka adventure tour!

You'll begin your trip in the culturally rich city of Sigiriya. After climbing the famous Lion's Rock, you'll move on to the Kaudulla National Park, where you'll hope to spot a majestic gathering of elephants among many other mammals including leopards, reptiles and birds.

On the way to Kandy, you'll drop by a Spice Garden to learn about traditional Ayurveda practices. After a night in Kandy, you'll take one of the world's best scenic train trips to Ella through valleys, lush meadows and other breathtaking scenery.

In Ella, you will experience the cold relaxing weather while surrounded by tea plantations and breathtaking waterfalls. Moving on, you'll arrive in the Yala National Park and then the Udawalawe National Park to witness many different species flora and fauna as well as the elusive leopard.

In Mirissa, you'll spend your days lounging on the beach and spotting whales! Your last two days of the trip will be spent exploring the colonial city of Galle before arriving in the bustling capital of Colombo.

Today, you'll arrive at the Bandaranaike International Airport where you'll meet and greet with your chauffeur-guide. You'll then begin your Sri Lankan adventure by travelling to the ancient city of Sigiriya. Sigiriya is one of the most valuable historical monuments of Sri Lanka. Home to the famous Lions' Rock which was a monastery since the 3th century BC and later became the royal residence of king Kasyapa in the 5th century. After checking in, you'll relax at the hotel.

This morning, you'll climb to the top of the Sigiriya Lion's Rock Fortress after breakfast. The climb to the summit takes approximately 60-90 minutes and the terraced top has breathtakingly beautiful panoramic views of the vicinity. Later, you'll go on a jeep safari in the Kaudulla National Park. It is home to 200+ elephants, monkeys, crocodiles and even a handful of leopards. Surrounded by grasslands, it can be visited year-round to see elephants and other great wildlife.

This morning, you'll visit the Dambulla Cave Temple, the largest cave in Sri Lanka, en-route to Kandy. History records that Dambulla was inhabited from as early as the 7th-3rd century BC and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Afterwards, you'll visit a spice garden for an introduction to indigenous Ayurveda plants and spices. Later, you'll visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic in Kandy which is located within the royal complex of the last kingdom of Sri Lanka.

This morning, you'll travel to the Kandy Railway Station to board the scenic train journey to Ella. This epic train journey is known as one of the most beautiful train rides in the world. Later, you'll visit the famous Nine Arch Bridge which was built during the British era. You'll also have the chance to experience and exhilarating zip line!

Today, you will visit Udawalawe, one of the biggest National Parks in Sri Lanka and experience a jeep safari to get close to exotic birds and different species of beasts including wild elephants and an occasional leopard. You'll then transfer to Yala National Park later in the day. Lying in the deep down south of the Island, combining a strict nature reserve with a national park, Yala is home to 44 varieties of mammal and 215 bird species.
