Welcome to Namibia! On your arrival at the Hosea Kutako International airport, you will be greeted and transferred to the guesthouse. You will be briefed by our representative about your vehicle and receive your vouchers and travel pack. You can enjoy dinner at one of the many wonderful restaurants in town.

This morning after a wonderful breakfast you depart for the Namib Desert. You will drive through spectacular landscapes and should arrive at your accommodation in Sossulvei mid-afternoon. You'll have the remainder of the day to enjoy your lodge where a cooling pool will allow you to relax and take in the desert plains that surround you.

The gates to Sossusvlei opens just after sunrise, so you will be up early for a wonderful day enjoying the sites of Sossusvlei. Today you'll visit several dunes and some fossils that have been found here. You'll stop at Big Daddy, Dune 45, and Dead Vlei. For more information about the Namib Desert, the Sossusvlei Lodge offers nature drives and other activities which can be booked in advance.

This morning after a leisurely breakfast you depart for the coastal town of Swakopmund, driving through the vast Namib-Naukluft Park to get there. Swakopmund has made a name for itself as the activity and sports capital of Namibia, but this town offers so much more. You will arrive at your guesthouse mid-afternoon, have some time to explore the area on foot and maybe enjoy a sundowner at one of the many seaside restaurants.

You will enjoy breakfast at your guesthouse and then have the full day to explore Swakopmund and the nearby Walvis Bay. There are various land and water-based activities, which can be booked in advance. For example, just outside Swakopmund, you can enjoy sandboarding in Nambia's dunes while Walvis Bay is the perfect place for a boat tour to explore the landscape. Activities vary from culinary experiences to educational and adrenaline-filled adventures!

Damaraland

After enjoying breakfast you will start making your way north along the Skeleton Coast. You have the option to stop at a shipwreck or visit the Cape Cross Seal Colony, before turning inland towards Damaraland. This beautiful mountainous region is home to an assortment of desert-adapted wildlife such as African elephants, black rhinoceros and lions, which somehow survive and thrive in this near-barren landscape. You will arrive at your lodge in time for a sundowner and dinner.

A Day in Damaraland

This morning after breakfast you have the option to visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Twyfelfontein, home to some of the most impressive rock engravings in the world. You can either do the excursion by self-drive or with the lodge. Another option is to join the lodge on a river drive to search for desert-adapted wildlife where you'll follow dried out streams on paths well known to animals in this region.

Drive to Etosha National Park

After breakfast, you will depart for Etosha National Park, about 4 hour's drive away to the northeast. The landscape here, as in most parts of the country, is truly dramatic and you can stop for regular photo opportunities on your way there. You will arrive at your resort mid-afternoon and can do a short game drive in your own vehicle or sit at the waterhole to enjoy watching the wildlife drinking as you sip on your own beverage.

Today you have the full day to explore the southern region of Etosha National Park. Etosha is home to a staggering amount of wildlife, both common and rare, including several threatened and endangered species. The mammal list is at over 110 species, including four of Africa’s Big Five, cheetahs, giraffes, spotted hyenas, zebra (of which there are two species), greater kudu, springbok, gemsbok (Namibia’s national animal), common warthog, honey badgers and many more.

This morning after breakfast, you will slowly make your way across the park to the eastern side of the park where you will spend two nights. You can take a picnic and enjoy lunch at one of the many picnic spots or stop at Halali resort for lunch and perhaps a quick swim! When you arrive, you may wish to sit at a designated safe spot to watch over Etosha's largest watering hole to see what animals come by to drink.

Etosha National Park

You have the full day to explore the eastern part of Etosha National Park in your own vehicle. Take a picnic lunch or return to the resort for lunch and a short siesta. As one of the largest old salt pans in the world, Etosha National Park's ecosystem is unlike any you have experienced before. Exploring the park, you'll where animals roam in large numbers, particularly in the early morning and late afternoon. Be prepared for a big day!

This morning after breakfast, you will exit the park and make your way towards Okonjima Nature Reserve, another of Namibia's impressive ecosystems. After resting at the camp for some time, you'll be eager to head out to explore. The camp has a range of activities that you can book in advance, such as organised game drives. Be sure to finish your day with a sundowner over looking over the waterhole.

Okonjima offers various optional activities including game drives with the lodge, tracking leopards as well as a chance to learn about their conservation projects at the AfriCAT Centre. The reserve is home to leopards, white rhinos, gemsbok, giraffes, Cape porcupines, hyenas, black-backed jackal and springbok. Some of the cheetahs and leopards are fitted with a radio-collar which contributes valuable information to the research project and their preservation here.
