Trip Overview

This tailor-made tour will take you through the north of Spain, specifically to Galicia, Castilla, Leon, Asturias, Cantabria and the Basque Country. You will visit some of the most important cities in northern Spain where you’ll enjoy delicious and traditional local food and numerous activities.

Hosted in three, four and five star or boutique hotels, you will get to know the most important cities in the north of Spain, including Santiago de Compostela, León, Bilbao and San Sebastián and some small villages like Llanes, Cosgaya or San Juan de Gaztelugatxe. You will find how they are completely different in people, places, food, and traditions despite being so close.

The whole tour has been organised to let you reach some places by public transport and some others by car so you can move around and can make short stops during the way visiting some nice villages or places you shouldn’t miss.

Set out on a journey from Santiago to the city of Leon, stopping off at the incredible towns of Las Medulas and Astorga along the way. Astorga offers a rich medieval legacy due to its location at the crossroads of the Pilgrim's Road to Santiago de Compostela and the Ruta de la Plata (Silver Road). Its walled town preserves churches, convents and hospitals, which take travellers back to the purest tradition of the Pilgrim's Road. Las Medulas is a small mountain town that marks the natural beginning of the ascent towards Las Médulas, a unique cultural landscape that was declared a World Heritage by UNESCO.

The old fishermen's refuge, San Vicente de la Barquera offers one of the most picturesque sights on the Cantabrian coast, with its beaches, the old village and the exceptional backdrop of the snow-capped mountains of the Picos de Europa. San Vicente's old town was declared to be of Cultural Interest in 1987 because of its interesting collection of monuments, forming part of which is the church of Santa María de Los Ángeles, built between the 13th and 16th centuries, the castle and the remains of a wall.
