Start your tour on the Alameda, a colourful avenue with buildings like the Chilean University, San Francisco Church, and Santa Lucia Hill where Santiago was founded. You will be driven to the Matetic Winery and relax before your dinner paired with a wine from the vineyard.

From the vineyard, you'll head west towards Valparaíso. Declared a World Heritage by UNESCO, Valparaiso offers unique ocean landscapes with colourful neighbourhoods, picturesque cobblestone streets and old cable cars. Then, you'll take the coastal highway to the modern seaside city of Viña del Mar. Here, see the flower clock, the casino, and several beaches where on windy days and high tides, the waves crash fiercely against the coast. Both cities are wonderfully different from each other.

Wake up in the bay area and spend the day exploring at your leisure. At Viña del Mar, relaxation and fine taste define this so-called “Garden City”. Let your imagination run free and enjoy its detailed urban aesthetics that mix modern buildings with white sand beaches and large green areas.

You will be picked up from your hotel and driven to the Santiago Airport in time for your flight to Calama. You will be welcomed at the airport in Calama and driven to your hotel in San Pedro de Atacama which is another hour away. You'll have the remainder of the day to relax and enjoy the calming atmosphere of your hotel, set in the centre of the town.

Explore the wonders of San Pedro de Atacama. This remote desert landscape never fails to impress. Today, you might want to visit the bubbling geysers of El Tatio which runs all the way to the border of Bolivia. Alternatively, take a stroll around Valle de Luna, an otherworldly landscape that is just one of many in this region. At night, take time to enjoy the star-lit sky or visit the largest observatory in the world.

Another day to explore presents yet more opportunities to witness the bounty of this landscape. Perhaps you can visit one of the villages in San Pedro de Atacama where you'll learn about old folklore tales, ancient beliefs and the delicacies of the region. Then, you might want to visit one of the salt pans where you'll find hundreds of flamingoes searching for their favourite food.

This morning, you'll be collected from your accommodation and taken to Calama airport for your flight to Castro. When you arrive, you'll be transferred to the beautiful island of Chiloe, perhaps most famous for its churches, myths and food. Travelling will take up the majority of the day, so you'll have time to relax and enjoy the beauty of your accommodation when you arrive which is all-inclusive so your meals and drinks will all be based here.

In the morning, choose you activity for the day. You may want to explore the churches of Aucar Island, a cultural excursion that starts at the museum and former home of Francisco Coloane, one of Chile’s best writers, well-known for his seafaring stories, inspired by Chiloé. Head to Aucar Island – which Coloane named the “Island of Sailors’ Spirits”. Start on the meandering path which leads around Aucar Island to soak up the scenery here, bursting with colours flora. Return to the hotel after.

Today, you may wish to relax a little, however, if you want a challenge, a hike is waiting for you! Muelle de las Almas or “Pier of Souls” is a wooden pier on a cliff edge leading nowhere. It pays homage to the legend of the boatman, Tempilcahue, who takes souls to their resting place. Start with a scenic drive past Huillinco Lake to Cucao Beach. Then walk along coastal trails up hilly terrain before reaching the cliffs. We have a picnic here and climb to the pier to see the sea lions below.

Today is a long day of travelling, starting with the drive to Puerto Montt airport for your flight to Punta Arenas, the gateway to Patagonia. When you arrive, you'll be driven into Torres del Paine National Park, your first experience of this unforgettable landscape! Rest for the remainder of the day, ready to begin your hiking adventures tomorrow.
