Over the course of your time in Cape Town, you'll have the choice of a number of day tours. When you do them is up to you. Today, it is suggested that you take the ferry over to Robben Island with your guide. Just 12 kilometres offshore from Cape Town, Robben Island is a small island that acted as a place of exile for those deemed as outcasts and trouble makers for over 400 years. During the apartheid, freedom fighters including Nelson Mandela spent over a quarter of a century in this prison.

Today, once again, you'll have a guide and driver at your disposal for the entire day. You can explore the Cape Peninsula and its many attractions, including Cape Point, where the Atlantic and Indian oceans meet; Boulders Beach, where you’ll see one of the few remaining colonies of Jackass
penguins. You may even want to visit the Kirstenbosch botanical gardens, where you can walk around and have a picnic. There are also many other options available to you.

Today, once again, you'll have a guide and driver at your disposal for the entire day. It is suggested that you make the journey up to Table Mountain, either by foot or cable car, before you leave. Table Mountain is a flat-topped mountain that dominates Cape Town's landscape. With the choice of either a cable car or hiking to the top, the mountain has become a popular tourist attraction. The mountain has much forestry and picturesque walks surrounding it that form Table Mountain National Park.

This morning, you'll transfer to Cape Town International for your flight to Hoedspruit. Upon arrival, you will be met by your driver and transferred to Idube Safari Lodge where you'll spend the next two nights. Located adjacent to Kruger National Park, Sabi Sand Game Reserve offers an experience found nowhere else in the world, with high rates of leopard sightings drawing in visitors. In the evening, you'll head out on your first safari drive, time permitting.

During your stay at Idube Game Reserve, you'll head out twice a day on safari game drives, in the morning and afternoon. Your guides will share their wealth of knowledge and help you to spot the Big 5 and the abundant birdlife in the park. This is where you can really get close to lions, elephants and other big game. In between game drives, you can relax at the lodge, enjoy the facilities and indulge in delicious meals.

This morning, after breakfast, you'll transfer to Lukimbi Safari Lodge within the Kruger National Park. You'll be staying here for the next three nights enjoying safari drives twice daily as well as safari bush walks with local ranger guides and other game activities. Upon arrival at the lodge, you'll check-in and have time to relax before your first game drive in Kruger.

After breakfast, you can join qualified guides on a bushwalk, which is not more than two hours. This is a great opportunity to see some of the smaller creatures and plants up close, not to mention some of the larger wildlife in their own environment. You'll return to the lodge and have the rest of the day and afternoon free to relax, enjoy a spa treatment or lounge by the pool. In the late afternoon, before dinner, you'll head out on an evening safari.

Today is another day of heading out into the Kruger National Park to see which of the Big 5 and other interestingly wildlife you can spot. Since Lukimbi Safari Lodge is bounded by three major river systems, the extensive 15 000 hectare area offers a diverse array of habitats, from grasslands to wooden areas and lush riverine thickets. No 4×4 safari is ever the same or predictable. It’s about being at the right place at the right time, with the right people to show you where to look.

Today, after breakfast, you'll say goodbye to your safari adventure and transfer to Machangulo beach lodge in Mozambique - you will have a road transfer to Kruger Mpumalanga airport and then a road transfer to Mozambique. If the timing doesn’t work for the transfers (the boat transfer is tide dependent), it could work out better to overnight near Kruger Mpumalanga Airport. Upon arrival, you'll take in the magnificent scenery and settle into your lodge where you'll spend the next five days.

Today, you may want to head out on a tour to Inhaca Island or the Santa Maria Village which provides a great opportunity to experience local living by visiting this small village. You can enjoy a scrumptious lunch at the local restaurant, Bemugi’s Place. Nestled just behind the mangroves, the village is tiny and has a really authentic, non-tourist feel. Inhaca Island provides a wide array of activities to choose from.

Today, you can get below the water's surface on a scuba diving trip! (At your own expense). The marine reserves surrounding the Machangulo Peninsula provides some excellent diving. Off the beaten track diving at its best. With ample options for beginner and advanced divers, it is the ideal location for those looking for a unique and unexplored diving experience. For the complete novice, the lodge offers a full selection of diving courses.

Today, you can experience two of Machangulo's most popular activities: fishing and snorkelling. Situated amongst some world-class fishing locations and accompanied by world-class fishing guides from the lodge, you will be set to have a fishing trip of a lifetime. Learning new styles and using your favourite techniques, you'll learn how to catch many magnificent species. If you're up for it, when you return you can go snorkelling.

This day of your Southern Africa tour is a free day to spend as you wish at Machangulo Beach Lodge. The most popular activity is the snorkelling! The Inhaca Island Marine reserve has two kilometres of pristine snorkelling and the Picnic Snorkel on the island is highly recommended, one of the favourite activities. You can use the snorkelling gear for free from the lodge so you can head out when the tide suits!
