Upon arriving at Bandaranaike international airport a private driver will greet you and pick you up. You will then be transferred to the city of Negombo and you can relax at your hotel in the evening or take a stroll around Negombo. Here you'll find many remnants of colonial buildings and a variety of restaurants and shops you can spend some time in.

After breakfast at your hotel, you will leave for Dambulla. The journey will take around 3.5 hours. Dambulla was inhabited from as early as the 7th to 3rd century BC and is a city surrounded by lush greenery. After arriving at the hotel you have the option to embark an evening trek to the rural village of Hiriwaduna to experience a boat ride, bullock cart ride and a walk through scenic paddy fields.

After breakfast, it's a good time to climb the Sigiriya Lion Rock Fortress. The climb to the summit takes approximately 60-90 minutes and the terraced top has breathtakingly beautiful panoramic views of the vicinity. In the late afternoon, you have the option to visit Dambulla cave temple, the largest cave in Sri Lanka, also known as the Golden Temple of Dambulla and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The Horton Plains National Park offers some great hiking opportunities over plateaus covered with grass, areas of thick forest, rocky landscape, waterfalls, and lakes. Here you have the option to do a 10-kilometre hike which takes around 3 hours to complete. Later in the afternoon you can walk through a lush strawberry farm and take a scenic walk around the famous Gregory Lake.

Proceed to Ella after breakfast at your hotel in the morning. Ella has a rich biodiversity and is dense with numerous varieties of native flora and fauna. Ella is surrounded by hills covered with cloud forests and tea plantations. Once you arrive you can visit the famous Nine Arches Bridge for a wonderful photo opportunity and Little Adams peak, one of the most famous viewpoints of the area, before returning to the hotel.

Today you will visit Yala National Park early in the morning with a packed breakfast. Home to the highest density of leopards in the world, this is the second-largest national park in Sri Lanka. Mirissa is a beautiful crescent-shaped, sandy beach surrounded by palm trees. The waves and currents here are great for beginner and intermediate surfers to build their confidence on a reef. When the surf is not up, Mirissa is good for snorkelling, fishing and one of the best places to go dolphin watching during the whale season from November to April. The beach is also lovely to relax and spend the day soaking up the sun.

Travel to Galle

Proceed to Galle after breakfast. Enroute, you have the option to stop by the famous coconut tree swing in Dalawella Beach to take a swing and capture some amazing photos. You can also visit the Stilt fisherman who still use this traditional sea fishing method synonymous with Sri Lanka. Explore Galle Fort later in the evening at your own leisure. Built by the Dutch, beginning in 1663, Galle's core is the Fort, a walled enclave surrounded on three sides by the ocean.
