After a hearty breakfast at your hotel, you will depart to Anuradhapura. This ancient city was built around a cutting from the 'Tree of Enlightenment', Buddha's fig tree, brought to the area in the 3rd century B.C. Today's tour you will take you on a visit to the ancient Buddhist ruins and discover an enigmatic city aged more than 1500 years old.

This morning you will visit the Sigiriya Rock Fortress, also known as Lion Rock due to the shape of the original rock formation - the only remaining features are a pair of huge clawed feet! If time permits, you'll stop off at Sigiriya Village for an authentic village tour. En route back to the hotel, you have the option to visit the ancient city of Polonnaruwa which features a large number of ancient structures such as palaces, temples, tombs and statues.

This morning you will make your way to the cultural triangle located in the centre of the island. Visit the Dambulla Cave Temple which is a UNESCO World Heritage site, followed by a jeep safari in Minneriya National Park. Here you will see wild elephants which are often present in huge numbers and wading birds. Enjoy an evening at Oak Ray Elephant Lake with calming views over the water.

You will be transferred to Kandy after breakfast at your hotel. On the way, you'll stop off for a guided educational tour around the spice garden at Iswara Ayurvedic Village where you will be introduced to the wonderful world of spices and herbs. At the heart of Kandy City is the scenic Kandy Lake, which is a popular place to take a stroll in. Kandy is famed for its many sacred Buddhist sites, including the Temple of the Tooth shrine.

After breakfast at your hotel, you will depart for the Peradeniya Botanical garden in the morning. The gardens are particularly well-known for their impressive variety of orchids and tropical surroundings. After the visit, you can take a wander around Kandy City where you can try some traditional food from a local restaurant. In the evening you will enjoy a traditional cultural dance show and then head back to your hotel for an overnight stay.

Today you will proceed to the tea country, where you will be treated to fantastic views out over the tea plantations and will see pickers working the harvest. In the afternoon, head to the Ramboda Waterfall viewpoint, where the cascading water is a sight to behold. Nuwara Eliya means "city on the plain" or "city of light". Have a walk around Lake Gregory which is surrounded by lush scenery and a fresh mountain breeze and enjoy an evening coffee with fantastic views.

Today you will have an early start to the day as you drive to Horton Plain’s National Park for a trek to the place called World’s End. This 8-kilometre guided walk passes through some beautiful scenery and on a clear day, you might be able to see Adam’s Peak. Visit New Zealand and Ambewala Farms on the way. Enjoy a Little England City Tour in the afternoon before making your way back to the hotel in Nuwara Eliya.

Experience the panoramic view from the highest mountain in Sri Lanka "Piduruthalagala Mountain". Enjoy a scenic train ride from Nuwara Eliya to Ella, which is a small and quaint mountain village. Climb Ravana Ella Caves, part of a network of caves said to be connected to the Ravana Ella Waterfall, to discover unseen history. After, you will walk to the top of Little Adam's Peak to take in the view and a beautiful sunset that never ceases to amaze visitors.

Today you'll take the road to the south of the country to reach Yala, passing through the wide Ravana Falls, where you can watch the water gushing down a concave rock. Yala features a nature reserve with a national park and is home to 44 varieties of mammal and 215 bird species. It contains the world’s biggest concentration of leopards, as well as Asian elephants, sloth bears, sambas, jackals, spotted deer and crocodiles.

Drive to Hummanaya Blow Hole in the morning. Then you'll visit Galle Dutch Fort which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the Bay of Galle on the southwest coast. Continuing further south you'll reach Bentota which features a beautiful white sandy beach. There are a plethora of activities to indulge in here such as snorkelling, sailing, diving or canoeing. Relax at the hotel swimming pool or enjoy some beach time in the afternoon.

Today you have a free day to spend as you wish! You can enjoy your time relaxing at the hotel or you can walk down from your room and enjoy the beauty of the Indian Ocean. Proceed to the rich colonial heritage port city of Colombo. The city is a contrast itself, with mansions, lush gardens, temples, monuments and fine dining options. The imposing Colombo National Museum, dedicated to Sri Lankan history, borders sprawling Viharamahadevi Park and its giant Buddha. Go shopping in ODEL with boutiques filled with international brands and local art and fabrics. Take a walk in Marine Drive in the evening.
