Embark on a 16-day pearl of Africa tour!

You'll visit the proud home of the only wild rhinos in Uganda and home to 22 southern white rhinos at the non-profit Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. Be amazed at the massive drop of the Victoria Nile River surging through a narrow gap at Murchison Falls National Park, where wildlife includes elephants and hippos.

You'll visit the popular Queen Elizabeth National Park with its sprawling savanna, shady, humid forests, sparkling lakes and fertile wetlands with the classic big game and over 600 species of birds. At Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, you'll visit the world’s remaining mountain gorillas and sit high in the clouds at Mgahinga Gorilla National Park.

Moving on, you'll relax at Lake Bunyonyi, which appears on the 5,000 Ugandan shilling note. Finally, you'll finish your Uganda tour at the ancient Lake Mburo National Park with rocks dating back more than 500 million years and home to 350 bird species, zebra, impala, eland and more!

Upon arrival at Entebbe Airport, you'll be met by your guide/driver who will welcome you to Uganda – the Pearl of Africa. Thereafter, you will be transferred to your guest house. In case you have had an early landing in Uganda, you can visit the Entebbe Botanical Garden. The garden is one of the places around Entebbe to spot many species of birds. In the evening, dinner will be served at the guest house.

Today, you'll embark on a five-hour drive to Murchison Falls National Park. En route, you'll stop at Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary, a nonprofit sanctuary and the proud home of the only wild rhinos in Uganda and home to 22 southern white rhinos. Well-trained rangers will guide you through the bush and you will get the opportunity to watch these magnificent endangered creatures in their natural habitat. You'll then continue to the park, check into your accommodation and have a relaxing evening.

This morning, you'll have your breakfast, depart for an early morning game drive across the rolling plains of Uganda’s largest National Park. After lunch back at your lodge, you will head out for the boat trip to the base of Murchison Falls. You'll then continue with a hike (if you like) to the top of the falls. The hike may be a strenuous one but the thrill of reaching the top is unforgettable. You'll return to your accommodation and have a relaxed evening.

The drive is incredibly scenic, passing through villages, lush green countryside and hills dotted with tea plantations which characterise this part of Uganda. You'll have breakfast at your lodge and head out for once in a lifetime experience of chimp habituation in Kibale Forest. The activity allows you to accompany Kibale’s research and habituation team on their daily activities. You will spend a greater part of the day in the presence of these amazing animals in the wild and witness them nesting, de-nesting, feeding, playing and more. You'll return to the lodge in the late afternoon to relax and enjoy dinner.

After breakfast, you'll head out to explore the crater lakes on foot. Then, you'll transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park featuring diverse ecosystems and home to a variety of wildlife species - ten primate species (including chimpanzees), more than 600 bird species, and classic big games. You'll have lunch en route. Tonight, you'll stay at the strategically located Kasenyi Safari Camp on the rim of lake Bunyampaka. The night comes alive with sounds of hyenas howling and lions roaring.

This morning, you'll head out for an early morning game drive to the Kasenyi plains during which you will expect to see lions, elephants, bushbucks, cape buffaloes, defassa waterbucks, giant forest hogs, Ugandan kobs and more. After lunch back at your lodge, you will go on a two-hour boat trip on the Kazinga Channel which connects Lakes George and Edward. You will surely be fascinated by the concentrations of giant hippos, elephants and crocodiles.

This morning, after breakfast, you'll head out to crater drive. The drive is basically sightseeing with a spectacular view of the breathtaking scenery in and around Queen Elizabeth National Park. There is also plenty of wildlife to see along the drive although the most common sights are cape buffaloes and elephants. After lunch back at the lodge, you will go out for yet another game drive in the Mweya Peninsula.

After breakfast, you'll set off to the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park through the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park – famously known for its resident tree-climbing lions. The chance of spotting these lions is about 70% though sometimes they are really hard to spot (most especially when they’re down in the grassland looking for prey). Fingers crossed you get the chance to spot them, the sight will be spectacular! After a stop for lunch, you'll continue to your accommodation.

After an early breakfast and a briefing by a ranger guide, you will enter the gorilla sanctuary for your adventure. The area offers a dramatic steeply forested landscape and is incredibly dense, but crisscrossed by numerous animal trails allowing access to tourists. Once you locate a gorilla group, you will be allowed an hour in their presence. You'll have lunch back at your accommodation and in the afternoon, you'll meet and talk to the local people living close to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.

This morning, you'll travel to the Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. For generations, the neighbouring Mgahinga dense forests were home to the indigenous Batwa (hunter-gatherers and fierce warriors) who depended on the forest for shelter, food and medicine. Now, they lead visitors through the forests and introduce them to their old home and the techniques they used to survive in it. You'll arrive in time to relax and have your lunch at the lodge before heading out for the Batwa trail experience.

Although not well known by most travellers, golden monkeys are yet the second, most interesting attraction in Mgahinga after the mountain gorillas. The activity starts with a briefing by the ranger guide and afterwards, you'll continue to track this awesome but endangered species of monkeys. In the afternoon, you'll travel to Lake Bunyonyi to your hotel set on tiered terraces commanding 180-degree views over Lake Bunyonyi. A dip in the eco swimming pool is a great way to end the day here.

After breakfast, you will have the option of visiting and interacting with the local community that inhabit areas surrounding Lake Bunyonyi. Alternatively, you could opt for a canoe trek on Lake Bunyonyi which will introduce you to the major islands and their rich history but also there will be lots of time spent in the traditional dugout canoe. You'll return to your accommodation for lunch, free time and dinner.

This morning, you'll set off to Lake Mburo National Park. You'll drive past the intensely terraced Kigezi hill slopes into Mbarara town. You'll arrive in the park in the early afternoon and take some rest before proceeding out for the late afternoon game drive. On the game drive, you'll expect to see gigantic eland antelopes, zebras in big numbers, topis, impalas, warthogs, Uganda kob and cape buffalos among others. You'll return to the lodge for dinner.

This morning, you'll enjoy your breakfast and head out into the park for a nature walk in the presence of an armed Uganda Wildlife Authority ranger. On an early morning walk, you'll often encounter hyenas that are returning to their dens after a night of being on the prowl. You'll take the trail to the top of the hills and see Lake Mburo and beyond. After lunch, you'll head out for the boat ride on the lake and then return to the lodge for dinner.
