After breakfast, you'll have a 45-minute drive to Kathmandu Valley. The first stop is one of the largest and most beautiful Hindu temples in Nepal, the Pashupatinath Temple, which is also used for the cremation of the dead. The temple dates back to the 15th century. Across the main temple, devotees take baths in the holy Bagmati River. Then, a short drive brings you to the largest Buddha stupa in the world, the Bouddhanath temple. You'll return in the late afternoon for pizza and beer.

This morning a 35-minute flight will take you to Lukla. You'll have breakfast and start the official EBC trek. The first day of the trek is seven kilometres and it takes four hours. The trail goes up and down, through beautiful Sherpa villages and across suspension bridges. The guesthouse is simple and clean with shared facilities. In the afternoon, you will visit a Sherpa village and enjoy a traditional dinner at the guest-house.

Day 4

Ascending 700 metres from Phakding, it will take 6-7 hours to trek the 12 kilometres to Namche. The trail is enjoyable climbing up through forests, seeing waterfalls and visiting Sherpa villages. A delicious lunch will recharge your energy then you'll cross the tallest suspension bridge before heading uphill through a forest for your first sights of Mt. Everest. In the afternoon, you'll take a short walk to Sagarmatha National Park Museum for an awesome sunset view of Mount Everest.

Namche Bazaar stands at 3,500 metres and is the starting point for many treks to Everest or other Himalayan peaks. It is a colourful market town that boasts impressive views and incredible Sherpa hospitality. When you are acclimatising, it is best to do a short hike to a nearby village in order to get used to the altitude. The historical Thame Village is nine kilometres from Namche Bazaar and is an ancient trade route for Tibet and its mountain people.

You'll leave Namche on a gradual up and level trail of the classical Everest Base Camp route to Kyanjuma. From here, the Gokyo Valley trail diverts uphill on the grassy pasture and you may spot Himalayan pheasants, musk deer, mountain Thar and the Himalayan Goral. A little incline takes you to the bank of Dudh Koshi River. Now, the trek is uphill to the rhododendron and yellow pine forests at Dole village. From here, you have good views of Mount Cho Oyu in the west and Thamserkuk in the east.

Today's trek starts after breakfast and is one of the easiest treks. There is a gradual-up trek from Dole to Machhermo village. The small trail is a marked yak pasture trail passing Luza village. After lunch, you'll hike to the viewpoint 200 metres above Macherrmo. You can also visit the Himalayan Rescue Hospital, located at the highest elevation in the world.

Ascending 300 metres from Machhermo to Gokyo Lake today, the trail carries into the moraine of the largest Himalayan Glacier. You'll explore the first and second Gokyo Lake then stop beside the third, Gokyo Lake. Your lunch, dinner and breakfast will be eaten at lodge. After lunch, you'll hike a few hundred metres up for acclimatisation.

It is a long hike from the Gokyo Lake trek to Ngozumpa Ri and back to Gokyo Lake while trekking to Ngozumpa-Ri passing both 4th and 5th Gokyo Lake, in addition, massive views of Mount Everest North Face. It's a steep uphill trek from 5th Gokyo Lake to the Ri but the view of glaciers and Himalayas is awesome, especially Mount Cho Oyu. From Ngozumpa Ri, you can see the three Gokyo Lakes.

An early start in chilly temperatures this morning as you begin the strenuous climb up to the ridge. Gokyo-Ri is the best viewpoint to see the Khumbu Himalayan range and in addition, you can see four mountains above 8000 metres and a turquoise glacier lake. Then, you'll drop back down to the lodge and begin your three hours of trekking along the largest Himalayan glacier to Dragnak village known as Cho La Pass Base Camp.

This is another tough day so you'll start with a hot breakfast. First, you'll keep ascending from Dragnak to Cho La summit through pasture, rock and ice. The beautiful ice lake is near to pass then more walking on the glacier with spectacular views of Mount Ama Dablam and Khumbu valley. Then, it will be a steep trek down to Zonglha. You'll stay in the guesthouse at Zhonghua at 4840 metres.

This morning you'll have a late start for your four-hour trek to Lobuche on an easy trail. Mostly going downhill to the junction of the classical Everest Base Camp trail. From here, the trek route will be busier. After check-in at the guesthouse in Lobuche and some lunch, you'll take an acclimatisation walk along the Khumbu Glacier.

This is the most adventurous and exciting day of the trek with rewarding views of Khumbu glacier. You'll hike up to the famed Base Camp. If possible, you could try to climb Kalapatthar in the evening to see the fiery sunset over Mt. Everest. You will remember this great achievement all your life.

This morning, you'll hike to Kalapatthar Peak at 5644 metres in the morning for an awesome view of Mount Everest and several other peaks. You'll walk steeply down to the lodge and resume the trek after breakfast. You'll walk on a grit path to Lobuche, then another shingle track takes you from Chukpi Lhara to Dughla with stunning views of mountains. From here, the route to Pheriche is pretty easy in the yak valley. You'll arrive at Pheriche around 3 pm.

You'll walk through a lush and green wildflower valley, crossing a few suspension bridges with a lunch break at Tengboche monastery. At the foot of the monastery, the trail rises up throughout the village and thriving forest until Kyanjuma, a trail confluence of the Gokyo valley route. The Namche Bazar path is a pretty easy walk on a wide road with views of rustic mountains and Buddhist sites. You'll enjoy coffee and cake and Wi-Fi access when you arrive at the lodge.

Today is the final day of the trek in the Khumbu Himalayas. Crossing the Kshum Khangru Viewpoint, you'll get the last glance of the Everest. Then, you'll walk-over few bridges and exit from Sagarmatha National Park. After that, you'll stop in one of the Sherpa villages for the lunch. A gentle two-hour hike brings you to Lukla, where you will enjoy an evening dinner with your Sherpa to celebrate your trek completion. The dinner is an opportunity to show your appreciation to your Sherpa.
