On this Addis Ababa tour, you will be introduced to the main attractions and experience the local way of life by visiting interesting and colourful markets and villages on the outskirts of the city.

First and foremost, you'll visit the National Archaeological Museum of Addis Ababa where, amongst other historic artefacts, you will discover "Lucy" the 3.2-million-year-old hominid skeleton.

Take in the panoramic view of Addis Ababa from Mount Entoto, the highest peak in the city and visit Merkato Market – the biggest outdoor market in Africa. The second day allows you to experience the way of life of the locals by visiting a family to learn how to make Enjera, the Ethiopian national bread, and you will enjoy great views of the Great East African Rift Valley.

Then take part in an Ethiopian coffee ceremony followed by lunch at one of the best restaurants in Addis Ababa.. Top this off with the vibrant Merkato market – the biggest outdoor market in Africa, before ending the day with a few more historical monuments and major landmarks.

Today we visit Adadi Mariam rock-hewn church, the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Steles of Tiya, and the prehistoric archaeological site of Melka Kunture. On your way out of the city, you'll stop to meet a local family and learn to make Enjera bread, enjoy the great views of the Rift Valley, and if the day is Thursday or Sunday, you will visit the colourful weekly market of the Oromo people. Return to Addis to finish your tour.
