Trip Overview

Italy awaits! This 2-week tour of Italy starts in Milan with cheese, wine and truffle tasting before taking you on a ferry to the Five Lands, also known as the “Cinque Terre”, an area suspended between sea and land, hanging from sheer cliffs surrounded by hills and vineyards. Spend your days here touring the amazing postcard-perfect coast fringed with beaches, beautiful reefs and crystal clear waters.

Discover the churches of Assisi, Etruscian ruins at Orvieto and Palazzos at Cortona and stop in Pompeii to learn the history of this important city destroyed and buried by the eruption of Vesuvius in the morning of the August 24th 79 AD.

Enjoy the 7-kilometre Gods' Pathway, hiking the spectacular scenery from Agerola to Nocelle with magnificent views of the Amalfi Coast and the island of Capri. Finally, finish this tour in Ischia at the Poseidon Gardens, the largest thermal complex on the island with access to several terraces, all immersed in a luxuriant nature typical of the Mediterranean scrub with streams of thermal water cross the path.

Today is the start of your 2 week tour of Italy! Upon your arrival at Milan Malpensa Airport, a personal driver will pick you up outside the airport to drive to your upscale contemporary hotel set amid rolling green hills. This morning, you'll meet an expert on truffles, who will provide all the information essential to understanding how, where and why truffles grow. Then, you'll head out to look for the prestigious Alba White Truffle with the truffle-hunter and his trained dog, guided only by the dog’s sense of smell and the intuition resulting from years of experience. Lunch will be served in a characteristic and charming Agriturismo with a tasting of Truffles. In the afternoon, you will arrive in Sanremo.

Sanremo is a coastal city with green spaces and plenty to see and do during your free day. You may want to visit the park of Villa Ormond, with a Japanese garden, palm trees and ancient olive groves. The 12th-century San Siro Cathedral, which has 12 bells in its tower, plus a huge crucifix above its altar, is also worth a visit. In an elegant art nouveau building, the long-established Casinò di Sanremo includes a theatre which you visit.

Today, after breakfast, your driver and guide will take you on a tour to Five Lands by ferry boat. Visit the ancient village of Riomaggiore, caught between two steep terraced hills descending in steep cliffs to the sea; Manarola, a charming and romantic village; Corniglia, an ancient Roman village with a long and rich agricultural tradition; Vernazza, a small fishing village; Monterosso with its amazing beaches, beautiful reefs and the sea’s crystal clear waters. On the island of Capri, you'll have the option to rent a Vespa to enjoy Capri island by yourself at your own speed.

This afternoon you'll visit the Poseidon Gardens, the largest thermal complex on the island of Ischia with access to several terraces, all immersed in a luxuriant nature typical of the Mediterranean scrub with streams of thermal water cross the path. There are sunbeds and deckchairs where you can relax in the sun or rest between a thermal bath and another. There is also a small shop and three restaurants.
