Explore Peru, the sacred land of the Incas, on this 13-day journey from Lima!

Beginning in the capital city, you'll explore the 'City of Kings' and learn all about Lima's history, different neighbourhoods and must-dine eateries! Moving on, you'll fly to Cusco to visit local communities in the Sacred Valley and visit the famous Inca ruins of Ollantaytambo, Moray and the incredible Maras Salt Mines.

Next up, will be the highlight of any trip to Pery: a full-day tour to Machu Picchu, the city in the clouds. Heading back to Cusco for the day, you'll explore the city's key landmarks, visit the San Pedro Market and end your tour at the ruins of Sacsayhuaman.

As you travel from Cusco to Puno, you'll drive over the Peruvian highland along snow-covered peaks of the Andes, visiting the town of Andahuaylillas, the ruins of Racchi and the small town of Pucara on the way.

Before heading to the Colca Canyon, you'll spend the day touring the Uros Floating Islands and Taquile Island from Puno. Journeying from Puno to Colca Canyon, you'll stop to take in the magnificent views of the canyon on the way as well as the Aguada Blanca National Park.

On your way to Arequipa, you'll visit the famous Cruz del Condors viewpoint and the colonial churches in Maca and Yanque. As well as visiting the famous churches and monasteries in Arequipa, you'll head out on a Route of the Picanterías food tour with a local guide to discover the traditional eats of this region before flying back to Lima where your 2 weeks in Peru will come to an end!

You will be welcomed at the airport, driven to your hotel in Lima and you will then have the rest of your day free to spend as you wish. Lima, also known as the 'City of Kings', was founded in 1535 by the Spanish conqueror Francisco Pizarro. Today, you'll embark on a colonial and contemporary city tour of Lima. You'll visit numerous must-see sights including the San Francisco Monastery. Afterwards, you'll enjoy a guided visit to one of Lima’s most noted museums, the Larco Museum, which houses the world’s largest private collection of Peruvian pre-Columbian Art, focussing on women's roles in ancient Peru. After the tour, you'll have the option to enjoy a visit to Parque de la Exposición with dinner in a local restaurant afterwards.

You will be picked up at a given time at the hotel and brought to the airport in order to take your flight to Cusco. Upon arrival in Cusco, you'll be welcomed at the airport and taken to your hotel. On the way, you'll enjoy a visit to the Chinchero community. Here, are the remains of what was the royal hacienda of Tupac Inca Yupanqui, as well as beautiful colonial temples built on Inca’s foundations. Then, you will enjoy a splendid view at El Mirador de Racchi before you continue to your hotel.

Today, you'll visit Ollantaytambo, a typical Inca community. Towering above the tow, you'll find the Inca fortress of Ollantaytambo. Steep stone terraces rising from the edge of town lead up to the fortress ruins at the top of the hill. A stone stairway leads up through the terrace walls, allowing visitors to step out on them. Afterwards, you'll have lunch in a typical restaurant. In the afternoon, you'll have the option to visit the Moray and Maras Ruins as well as take a trek to Yucay.

This morning, you'll transfer by bus to Ollantaytambo train station where the tour starts by train through the fertile plain of the Urubamba valley and on to Aguas Calientes. From there, a bus will take you to Machu Picchu. Known as the Lost City of the Incas, this cultural heritage of mankind is a beautifully located impressive stone city constructed with a technique incredible for its era and even for present times. After a two-hour guided tour, you'll be transferred to your hotel in Cusco.

This morning, you'll be transferred to Puno’s dock where you will depart towards the Uros Islands on Titicaca Lake. The Uros are 40 small floating islands made of packed totora (reed), located within the Titicaca National Reserve. Here the inhabitants of the lake, the Uros, live just as their ancestors did, maintaining their customs and idiosyncrasies. After visiting the Uros Islands, you'll return to your hotel.

Today you'll start your excursion to the Colca Canyon. This canyon has a length of more than 100 kilometres and its deepest point is 3,400 metres. The best lookout is to be found at 3,800 metres above sea level. On the way, you'll visit the Aguada Blanca National Park where Vicuñas and Alpacas can be seen. You reach the best lookout at 4,910 metres above sea level. The view of the volcanoes Misti, Chachani, Ampato and the still-active Sabancaya is just fantastic.

After an early breakfast, you'll start your trip to the lookout, Cruz del Condor, located at the deepest point of the canyon. The view is just fantastic and condors can be seen. You'll have lunch in Chivay and continue to Arequipa where you'll arrive in the late afternoon. In the afternoon, you'll check into your hotel and have the evening free to spend as you wish.

At each Picantería, you will taste some of the most representative dishes such as: Adobo Arequipeño, Zarsa de Patitas, Sencca, Chupe Shrimp and more.
