3-Day Cultural Adventure to Cao Bang & Ba Be Lake

Customisable Itinerary
4.9 • 51 travellers have booked with Hai N.

Trip Overview

This 3 day Vietnam tour starts and finishes in Hanoi visiting waterfalls, caves, local villages and homestays run by a Nung and Tay family. You'll embark on a long drive to Cao Bang via Lang Son and Quang Uyen with stops on the way to take pictures and visit local villages.

Your first stay is with a Nung family; the Nung people are one of the 54 ethnic groups and are closely related to the Tay Ethnic Group who also live in the same region. Nung people make a living primarily through farming and handmade products, which they sell among their own people as well as to the rest of Vietnam.

In Cao Bang, you will visit the Ban Gioc Waterfall, one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Asia, and continue to Ba Be Lake, one of the world's largest freshwater lakes, a picturesque place to stay and relax.

Here, you will stay in a Tay family home; the Tay people are the biggest ethnic minority group in Vietnam, living along the rivers in the mountains. They live in wooden stilt houses with tile or palm leaf roofs and wear clothes made of hand-woven cotton, dyed with indigo.
