Mandalay, the capital of Myanmar's last kingdom, is situated in the central region on the east bank of the Irrawaddy River. This is the largest city after Yangon and was established in 1857. It is well known for it's beauty and charm with a fascinating history.

Continuing on your Myanmar itinerary this morning, you will visit the sights around Mingun, known for its bell, the unfinished Settawya Pagoda and the large white Hsinbyume Pagoda also known as Myatheindan Pagoda. After lunch, visit Sagaing Hill, the holy place of the monastery and nunnery. Finish the sightseeing with a visit to a silversmith workshop.

Pyin Oo Lwin Sightseeing

A full day visit of Pyin Oo Lwin, a former British Hill Station will take you to a great variety of attractions. Visit the botanical garden, ride on a horse and cart around the beautiful city and admire the brick and timber houses complete with English style gables. After lunch, visit a popular picnic spot and the Pyaw Kauk waterfalls before returning to Mandalay.

Today is the last day on your Myanmar Itinerary. Today you will take a trip to Monywa, 136 kilometres west of Mandalay. Explore the fascinating Thanboddhay Pagoda with over 50,000 Buddha images, you'll also visit the second largest Buddha image in the world, the Bodhi Tataung Laykyun Sekkya, sitting at 116 metres tall. Then drive to the Hpo Win Daung caves with their ornate mural paintings and hundreds of Buddha statues.
