5.0 • (1 review)

Trip Overview

On this Bhutan holiday package, we will be blessed by visiting the two most revered Buddhist pilgrimage spots in Bhutan, Bumdrak and Taktshang Monastery, while enjoying the scenic beauty of the Himalayan mountains.

Bumdra means ‘Rock of One Hundred Thousand FootPrints’. The legend tells us that a hundred thousand Dakinis (angels) descended here and left their footprints on the rock 800 years ago. Bumdra is about 3,800 metres above sea level and the Taktshang Monastery is above 3,100 metres above sea level.

It is a beautiful hike with sweeping views of the Paro valley, the Himalayan ranges and meadows adorned with prayer flags till you reach the campsite. The Bumdrak Monastery is incredibly important, sitting atop a hill, the silence is deafening. You'll spend the afternoon here relaxing.
