Embark this Ethiopia tour to experience the colourful atmosphere of the country's multi-ethnic culture, which is Harar’s unmistakable characteristic.
Traditionally, the walled quarters of old Harar were the domain of the Harari or Adere people, who are Ethiopia’s most urbanised ethnic groups. The old town is contained behind an ancient stone wall which is home to 110 mosques and many more shrines that make up one of the centres of Islam.
Dip into local culture and history by visiting the infamous spectacle of the Hyena Men and find some interesting fabrics at the vibrant Dire Dawa Market - sometimes referred to as 'Taiwan’, where you will find mostly clothing and fabric and some stalls selling electronic goods.
This trip is a short but sweet cultural insight into one of Ethiopia's most important cities. Embark this Ethiopia tour to experience the colourful atmosphere of the country's multi-ethnic culture, which is Harar’s unmistakable characteristic.
