Today you begin your Bagan tour. You'll visit Nyaung U Farmers Market and some of the most important pagodas and temples, such as Shwezigon Pagoda, Gu Byauk Gyi Temple, Htilominlo temple, Ananda Temple, and Dhammayangyi Temple. Finish the day at a faster pace on a horse and cart ride to the ancient temples in Bagan as the sunsets.

This morning visit Yoke Sone Kyaung, a cultural heritage site situated on the eastern bank of the Irrawaddy River, famous for its spectacular woodcarvings. You'll also go to the native town of the famous writer, Salay U Pone Nya, who was famous during the time of the Myanmar Kings. Then, drive to Mount Popa, an extinct volcano known as a pilgrimage site with numerous Nat temples and relic sites atop the mountain.

Mount Popa Village Walk and Sunset Cruise

Take a walk in one of the villages around Mount Popa and make some new friends. Then you'll head back to Bagan, stopping in a palm sugar workshop and a school where you can teach a little bit of English to the children. In the evening, after some time to relax, you'll enjoy a private sunset cruise on the Irrawaddy River with a drink of your choice.
