Southern Vietnam has a vast river and canal system with a rich history of trade and transportation, and it is located right outside Ho Chi Minh City! These waterways are well known for their role in the Vietnam-American War.
This short tour will show you the highlights of both in just five days. You'll visit the Cu Chi tunnels, excellent war museums and learn about the former Saigon's history before exploring the culture and floating markets of the Mekong Delta.
You will also have a chance to visit the biggest flower market, Ho Thi Ky, by rickshaw ride. When you visit this market, you will not only be able to admire the beauty and smell of hundreds of exotic flowers, but you will also be able to eat delicious food in the Cambodian market (Le Hong Phong market), where many Cambodian merchants offer Cambodian products and delicacies.
During the trip, you will stay at the homestay far from the hustle and bustle of the metropolitan areas, within a tranquil and serene environment in which you will appreciate and enjoy the rustic local life of the Mekong Delta.
