Arrival at Kigali Airport

Upon the arrival of your flight at Kigali International airport, you will be met by our representative who will be waiting for you in the arrivals hall. You will then be transferred to your hotel and if time permits, there will be a short tour briefing in the lobby. Dinner will be served at the hotel.

Day 2
Kigali City Tour & drive to Virunga Lodge

After breakfast you will depart on your Kigali City Tour. The tour will include a few stops, but the most notable will be the Genocide Memorial Center and the Inema Arts Center. Lunch will be served at Heaven Restaurant. The tour will then continue on to the Kimironko Market. When you are ready to depart, your driver will transfer you to your new accommodation just outside Volcanoes National Park. Dinner will be served onsite.

Gorilla Trek & Lake Bulera Village & Massage
Close
Start the day with an early breakfast, before heading off on your gorilla trekking experience. Spend some time with the gorillas before returning to base camp and then to the hotel for lunch. On this free afternoon at Virunga Lodge, we recommend taking advantage of the lodge’s unique position by meandering down the mountain slope, through local villages, and to Lake Bulera, which sits at its foot. In the afternoon be sure to schedule your 30-minute massage.

Today you have the day free so you can choose from a number of available activites. Highly recommended would be the Golden Monkey Trek, followed by a trip to the Musanze Caves in the afternoon. Other interesting options include a trip to Dianne Fossey Tomb or a cycling tour to the Twin Lakes. Breakfast and dinner will be served at the lodge.

Iby'Iwacu Cultural Village & Return to Kigali

Enjoy a final breakfast, before packing up and checking out of the lodge. En-route back to Kigali, you will stop at Iby'Iwacu Cultural Village. There will be a stop for lunch which will be served at Khana Khazana Kiyovu, an authentic Indian restaurant. Finally, you will be dropped off at Kigali Airport in good time to catch your departing flight. We hope you enjoyed your personal Rwanda travel experience.
