Spend a delightful morning in “A Town Like Alice” in the heart of Central Australia, starting with panoramic views from Anzac Hill overlooking the township and surrounding mountain ranges. You'll then learn more about the region and how it is to live here by visiting the Royal Flying Doctor Service, the School of the Air, and the Alice Springs Telegraph Station, Heritage-listed by the National Trust and National Estate. In the evening, you'll have the option to head out for a sunset Bush dinner.

Drive to King's Canyon

Departing Alice Springs at 2 pm, we travel directly to Kings Canyon in a four-wheel-drive on Ernst Giles Road, visiting varying sights along the way. On arrival at Kings Canyon Resort, you'll check in to the hotel room and, time permitting, we will enjoy a sparkling wine with a selection of canapés whilst watching the amazing sunset on Carmichael Crag at the western end of Kings Canyon. Tonight, enjoy a sumptuous dinner at the resort’s restaurant and witness the stars of this region.

Kings Canyon and Uluru-Kata Tjuta

Take a short drive to Kings Canyon for an early walk. The Rim Walk is botanically and spiritually rich, combined with astounding scenery like the buttressed domes that surround the Amphitheatre, the Lost City and Garden of Eden. Then, we make our way to Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, stopping at Willonga Well for lunch in the shade with a glass or two of wine. On arrival, you can stretch the legs on the Walpa Gorge ‘Windy Gully’ walk. Return to the hotel after for a beautiful 3-course dinner.

We depart the resort under darkness to a remote location to witness the sunrise over the mighty monolith of Uluru and the domes of Kata Tjuta. This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that will show you the majesty of Uluru as the colours of the great monolith begin to change. This concludes your wonderful Outback tour. You will be departing from the Ayers Rock Airport, your guide will deliver you there by 12.30 pm.
