Trip Overview

During this five-day Norwegian adventure, you'll travel from Bergen via the fjord village of Flåm to the capital city of Oslo.

You'll travel on the famous Bergen & Flåm Railway, said to be one of the most beautiful railways in the world. You'll overnight in Flåm and take a fjord cruise on the breathtaking Nærøyfjord which has been included on UNESCO's World Heritage list.

You'll then travel down to Oslo where you'll have time to explore this city and its fascinating history and culture of Vikings. You'll finish the trip by jumping on an overnight ferry to Copenhagen, arriving in the beautiful capital city in the early morning.

Unlike other tours of Norway, the trip is entirely flexible enabling you to add on sightseeing tours and day trips whenever you wish.

Day 1

Today, you will arrive at Bergen airport and make your way to the hotel located in the city centre. After checking in, the rest of the day will be free to explore this rich, cultural city which is often referred to as the gateway to Norway's fjords. You may want to head down to the Hanseatic Wharf and have a stroll around Bergen's museums and restaurants.

Day 2

Travel by Train, Bus & Fjord Cruise to Flåm

This morning, you'll catch a train from Bergen to Voss, from where you will continue by bus via Stalheimskleiva's 13 steep hairpin bends to Gudvangen (Stahlheimskleiva is only open during the summer). In Gudvangen, you will depart on a two-hour fjord cruise on the Nærøyfjord to Flåm. The Nærøyfjord is the narrowest fjord channel in Europe and has been added to UNESCO’s list of World Heritage Sites. Your afternoon will be free to spend at leisure to explore the fjord village of Flåm.

You'll depart from Flåm to Myrdal with the Flåm Railway this morning. You will pass through wild and beautiful mountain scenery with waterfalls and steep mountain sides before arriving Myrdal. In Myrdal, you will change to the Bergen Railway, classed as one of the finest train journeys in the world. The five-hour train journey will bring you across Hardangervidda Mountain Plateau, with Finse as the highest train station at 1,222 metres above sea level.

Today, your day will be spent at your leisure in Oslo. Get to know the fascinating history and culture of Vikings at the museum or relax in one of the many parks to take in the luscious vegetation that surrounds the city, making Oslo one of the greenest capitals in the world. In the late afternoon, you'll board your overnight ferry and wave goodbye to Oslo as you make your way to Copenhagen with DFDS Seaways.

Day 5

You'll have breakfast onboard as you cruise towards Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark. You'll arrive just before 10am and the rest of the day will be entirely free to spend as you wish. This will mark the end of your 5-day adventure on one of the best tours of Norway!
