A place to feel the earth's power, Rotorua is surrounded by a fascinating geothermal landscape with its unique steam vents, spouting geysers and bubbling mud pool set alongside freshwater lakes and majestic native forests. Besides geothermal activity, Rotorua is a hub of Maori culture in New Zealand, home to a living Maori village and the New Zealand Maori Arts and Crafts Institute. In the evening, you'll enjoy an authentic Maori performance followed by a traditional Hangi dinner.

Today you can choose to spend the morning in Rotorua or depart for Auckland early and spend some more time there in the afternoon. If you spend the morning in Rotorua, you can visit the bubbling and steaming mud pools, some more swimming, some for not! If you head over to Auckland, you can spend the afternoon exploring the city or hop on a ferry to Waiheke Island where there are numerous activities to pursue including mountain biking, kayaking, fishing, surfing, sailing, and archery.
