This morning, you will fly to Bahirdar and be transferred to your hotel. On the way to your hotel, you'll visit the spectacular Blue Nile Falls, Africa's second "great smoke", and one of Ethiopia most well-known sights. Later, you will take a boat ride on Lake Tana which holds 50% of Ethiopia's freshwater. You'll visit the ancient 14th-century island monasteries before returning to relax at your hotel.

This morning, we leave for Gondar. When you arrive, you'll go on a city tour to learn a little more about it. Start the tour at Debre Berhan Selassie Church, known for its outstanding wall art. You'll stop at the Royal Enclosure and bath of King Fasilides. During Timkat, the Epiphany celebration that marks the baptism of Jesus in the River Jordan, people gather here for a procession followed by singing and dancing.

This morning you will fly to Lalibella, Ethiopia's most famous town, packed to the brim with churches. Today, you will tour around the first group of Lalibella's churches that dip deep into the ground with their rock-hewn splendour. Each of the churches has its own characteristics, some are free-standing while others connect to each other or are connected to caves. You'll be able to walk around certain parts that are safe.

This morning, you'll fly once more, this time to Aksum. After checking into your hotel, you will spend the day visiting the ancient city of Axum. This city is the birthplace of Ethiopian civilisation and the last resting place of the Holy Ark of the Covenant which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Interestingly, this is also where the name Ethiopia was first used as early as the 4th century.
