On this tour, you will first visit the capital city, Valletta, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Nowhere on earth concentrates as much turbulent history into such a small landmass as the Maltese islands and the capital city of Valletta. This tour will take you through the bustling streets of Valletta allowing you to view the Barrakka Gardens with a breath-taking panorama of the Grand Harbour. You'll then visit the fortified city of Mdina and its narrow and winding roads and magnificent panoramas.

Today, you'll travel by car and ferry to the Mġarr harbour, which immediately sets the pace to Gozo’s unique atmosphere. Your guide will lead you around the Megalithic temples of Ggantija, the oldest free-standing monuments in the world. This will be followed by visits to the medieval citadel in Victoria, the fjord-like bay at Xlendi and Dwejra with its dramatic coastal formations. You'll be impressed by the island’s countryside, its serene atmosphere and how different it is.

Today, you'll have the entire day free to spend as you wish. Your guide will provide you with recommendations on what to do today, depending on your interests. Valletta may be small but don't let that fool you! The grandeur and elegance of this tiny capital will blow you away; it is crammed with stunning sites including palaces, churches and gardens that are exemplary of the architectural movement.

Today, you'll journey to South Malta. You'll start the day by discovering the Grand Harbour area opposite Valletta known as the Three Cities – Vittoriosa, Cospicua and Senglea. Then, you'll reach Vittoriosa for a walking tour through the narrow streets in the shade of historic buildings. From here, you will drive to Hagar Qim, Malta’s main pre-historic site, and if time permits, you could also visit Marsaxlokk, a small picturesque village in the southeastern coast of Malta.
