Embark on a journey to two iconic Scandinavian countries on this self-drive tour from Stockholm to Copenhagen, covering the major highlights and unique destinations along the way in Sweden and Denmark.

The first half of your trip will be spent in Stockholm, the Swedish capital known as “Venice of the North” which spreads out across several islands. In Old Town Gamla Stan, Sweden's history as a former powerful European Royal Empire will unfold before your very eyes as you explore with your local guide.

Before moving on, you'll visit several important museums including the Vasa Museum, Abba Museum and Skansen, the world's oldest open-air museum. You'll then hit the road towards the south of Sweden. En route, you'll stop by the intriguing and historic Match Museum in Jönköping before arriving in Toftaholm Herrgard where you'll be staying in a beautiful manor by a lake.

Your final leg will take you to Copenhagen, with a stop in Malmö, the largest city in Southern Sweden where you can enjoy the perfect mix of old and new in the Old Town and by gazing up at the magnificent Turning Torso, the highest building of Scandinavia. You'll then cross the iconic Öresund Bridge linking Sweden with Denmark to visit Kronborg Castle before arriving in Copenhagen for your final night.

Upon arrival at Stockholm Arlanda international airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The Swedish capital is known as “Venice of the North” and is located between Lake Mälaren and the Baltic Sea and spreads out across several islands. In Old Town Gamla Stan, Sweden's history as a former powerful European Royal Empire will unfold before your very eyes. Each neighbourhood has a distinct character, you will find trendsetting design, inventive cuisine, great museums and shopping and ambience. You'll have the rest of the day free to explore the city.

This morning, your private city guide will meet you at your hotel to take you on a walking tour of Stockholm's Old Town. You'll visit St. Nikolai Cathedral with the monumental sculpture of Saint George by the German master Notke and the Stockholm city castle where you can watch the daily ceremony of the change of guards. In the afternoon, you'll learn about the spectacular project about bringing the shipwreck of the royal warship, Vasa, back to life in the Vasa Museum, a true highlight of Stockholm.

Today, you'll have the day free to explore Stockholm as you wish. It is recommended that you visit Skansen, the world's oldest open-air museum. There you can see elks, the national animal of Sweden. In the afternoon, you can visit the nearby Abba Museum. Here, you can learn about the ABBA story put on display at the museum dedicated to them. Even if you aren't much of a fan, this is a fun and interactive museum for everyone to enjoy!

Today, you'll bid farewell to Stockholm and travel by rental car towards the south of Sweden. En route, it is recommended that you visit the Match Museum in Jönköping. It is the only one in the world, located in the historical building that once was the first match factory in Jönköping. In the museum, match history comes to life with the stories about the people and machines that built up the match industry and turned it into a global trademark. You'll then continue to Toftaholm Herrgard where you'll be staying in a beautiful manor by a lake for the night.

Today, you'll continue to Malmö, the largest city in Southern Sweden. Here, you might want to mingle with the locals, take a stroll or enjoy the views of the Turning Torso, the highest building of Scandinavia that was designed by the Spanish-Swiss architect, Santiago Calatrava. After crossing the Öresund Bridge linking Sweden with Denmark, you will arrive at Helsingör to visit Kronborg Castle. You'll then continue to Copenhagen, where you'll head to your hotel and drop off your rental car.
