Begin your Kenya safari on the county's fastest ever train, the Nairobi - Mombasa Standard Gauge Railway. During this 6-day walking safari, you will have the chance to get up close and personal with the Big 5 and experience nature walks with experienced guides. Enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity of having a day in the life with a Taita tribesman who will teach you about African traditional medicine and survival in the wild.

Day 1

This Kenya safari will begin with a guide meeting you at Nairobi International Airport. Take a private transfer to the Nairobi train station to start the train journey to Voi. A driver will transfer you from Voi station to your accommodation at the Kipalo Hills Camp, directly facing the Chyulu hills and in the distance, you can make out Mt Kilimanjaro. Enjoy a freshly prepared lunch followed by your first evening game drive during a magical African sunset.

Day 2

Tsavo West Walk Towards the Tsavo River

After breakfast walk from Kipalo hills towards the Tsavo River tracking wildlife. Arrive at the camp for lunch only to take a small break from your walking safari to learn more about surviving in this part of Tsavo. Return to the wild camping site at sunset. You'll have dinner around a campfire and sleep under the starry African sky, listening carefully for the sounds of Tsavo at night.

Day 3

Exploring Tsavo River

After breakfast and before the sun is too high, depart by road for Mzima springs which is a resurgence of crystal clear waters filtered by Tsavo’s volcanic rocks. It forms pools that are inhabited by hippos and crocodiles. Enjoy a picnic lunch and then explore the park and its animals by vehicle until sunset. Return to base for dinner around the fire, swapping stories of the day's adventures.

Day 4

Climbing Ngulia Hills

This morning we have an early breakfast and then depart to climb Ngulia Hills, starting at an elevation of 500 m. Ngulia Hills is a rocky peak overlooking Tsavo West with a 1100-metre altitude. After the descent, enjoy a picnic lunch in the park at your new Fly Camping location. A sundowner under the African sky with unpolluted star gazing is an invaluable luxury you will experience here on this Kenya safari.

Day 5

Tsavo River to Wariangulo

After an early breakfast, leave the camp following the Tsavo river via Wariangulo towards Mbulia Hill and H12 Kipalo Hills camp. During this part of the walk, you will be joined by a Taita tribesman who will teach you the Taita way of life as he was taught by his ancestors. This includes archery, survival in the wild, tracking and traditional African medicine. This evening, we stay in luxury tents at H12 Kipalo Hills Camp where you will watch the sunset beside Mt Kilimanjaro.
