Today, you'll arrive in Slovenia's capital and largest city, Ljubljana. This charming city has been the centre of the country's economic and political dealings since 1991 when Slovenia became independent from Yugoslavia. Ljubljana dates back to Roman times and is famous for its attractive medieval old town, its Roman ruins, the winding Ljubljanica River lined with outdoor cafes. After exploring the city and perhaps visiting the castle, a suggestion for dinner at a local restaurant has been made.

Explore Ljubljana & Postojna Cave

Today, you'll venture out on a tour of the capital city. Big on history, entertainment and charm, small in size and distances, Ljubljana is both charming and vibrant. You'll ride a funicular to the castle from Old Town not far from the market and you will be rewarded with excellent views of the city and the mountains. In the afternoon, you'll visit Postojna Cave. An electric train will take you into the caves where you can marvel at this underground karst world.

Velika Planina & Travel to Bled

Today you'll set off for an active day in the Gorenjska region. First, you'll visit Velika Planina, a karstified mountain plateau in the Kamnik–Savinja Alps and get to know the herdsmen’s story in intact nature. The herdsmen’s settlement is known as one of few the settlements of such size in Europe and attracts many visitors throughout the year. At lunchtime, you'll have some free time for a typical herdsmen’s lunch. In the afternoon, you'll head towards your next destination, Bled.

You'll take a ride around the picturesque emerald lake, visit the picture-postcard church on an islet and also the medieval castle clinging to a rocky 139-metre high cliff. You'll then continue to the Bohinj Valley with its unspoiled nature and large glacial lake in the Julian Alps. You'll also take the cable car up to Mount Vogel, where you'll enjoy breathtaking views of the Bohinj Valley and visit Savica Waterfall.

Lipica Studfarm & Travel to Piran

In the morning, you'll head towards Lipica, the famous stud farm that lives for its snow-white Lipizzaner horses. Afterwards, you'll drive to Piran, everybody’s favourite Slovenian coastal city. Piran is very picturesque, sitting at the tip of a narrow peninsula, it is one of the best-preserved historical towns anywhere on the Adriatic. Piran is a gem of Venetian Gothic architecture and whilst here, you will enjoy some free time for a stroll along the sea or the narrow Istrian streets.
