Trip Overview

Coined by Winston Churchill, Uganda is affectionately known as the 'Pearl of Africa'. After embarking on the best safari in Uganda, you will know why.

This week-long trip begins in Entebbe and moves to Queen Elizabeth National Park, where your safari experience will begin. In addition to a game drive, you will also go chimpanzee tracking and on a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel.

The tour then moves to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to the mighty Ugandan Gorillas. You will go on a gorilla trek and you will also have an opportunity for a local community visit.

The tour ends with a trip to Lake Mburo National Park where you will enjoy an evening game drive as well as a guided nature bush walk on your final morning.

Upon arrival at Entebbe Airport, you'll be met by your guide/driver who will welcome you to Uganda – the Pearl of Africa. Thereafter, you will be transferred to your guest house. In case you have had an early landing in Uganda, you can visit the Entebbe Botanical Garden. The garden is one of the places around Entebbe to spot many species of birds. In the evening, dinner will be served at the guest house.

This morning, you'll have your breakfast and hit the road for Queen Elizabeth National Park. The drive is approximately seven to eight hours. You will stop for lunch en-route at a motel and then proceed into the beautiful national park which is considered to be one of Uganda's most outstanding treasures. In the evening, there will be a game drive followed by dinner at the lodge.

This morning, you'll get up early, have breakfast and head out for your chimpanzee tracking experience in the Kyambura Gorge. The gorge is home to habituated chimpanzees plus other primates such as colobus monkeys, baboons and also bird species. You will spend the early part of the day tracking chimpanzees and afterwards, you'll return to the lodge for some rest and lunch. After lunch, you will go for a two-hour boat trip on the Kazinga Channel which connects Lakes George and Edward.

This morning, you'll have breakfast then set off for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The drive there is a game drive in itself. Along the way, you will enjoy spotting game with your guide and you travel through the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, which is famously known for its resident tree-climbing lions. A picnic lunch will be served en route. After the park, you'll continue on to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park where you'll check into your lodge and have dinner.

After an early breakfast and a briefing by a ranger guide, you will enter the gorilla sanctuary for your adventure. Once you locate a gorilla group, you will be allowed an hour in their presence. You'll return to the lodge for some rest and lunch. In the afternoon, you will go on a Buhoma community visit to see how the local people live in the national park and observe their lifestyle. In the evening, dinner will be served at the camp.

Travel to Lake Mburo National Park & Afternoon Game Drive

This morning, you'll have breakfast and set off to Lake Mburo National Park. You'll arrive in the park in the early afternoon and relax before heading out for a late afternoon game drive. On the game drive, you can expect to see gigantic eland antelopes, zebras in big numbers, topis, impalas, warthogs, Uganda kob and Cape buffalos among others. In the evening, a traditional dinner will be served at Mburo Eagle's Nest.

You'll have an early breakfast and head out for a Mburo Park early morning nature walk in the presence of an armed ranger guide. You will then check out of the lodge and depart for the airport.
