Trip Overview

This Uganda safari tour takes you to meet the famous rare mountain gorilla in the Bwindi Forest, you will take on a challenging but worth-while trek to meet the friendly giants in their peaceful, green habitat.

The next adventure takes us to one of the best wildlife national parks in Africa, Queen Elizabeth National Park; the ‘birder’s paradise’. While staying in Mweya, looking onto the Democratic Republic of Congo, you will have a full day of exploring the park to discover the many animals that live there, from hippos lazing along the banks of the river, to elephant grazing in amongst the trees, you will be in awe at the sheer variety of species which dwell here.

The two parks are the most visited national parks in Uganda with lots of tourist activities and most rewarding game drives, Uganda is fill with little known natural wonders.

You will be met at the airport and transferred to Biraj International Hotel in Kampala. If you arrive early enough in the day, you will go on a Kampala City Tour in the afternoon, this is based on your own personal preferences. Your evening is free, so you can either dine at the hotel, or travel into the city for dinner where you will discover many enticing restaurants.

Day 2

After breakfast, you will depart for the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The drive is around 500km and should take all day. Along the way, you will stop at the equator line and then later at the Agip Motel for lunch. Expect to arrive into Bwindi in the very late afternoon. You will check into the Buhoma community rest camp where you will enjoy dinner under the stars in the national park.

Gorilla Tracking Experience

After breakfast you will depart for your gorilla tracking experience with packed lunch. You will spend the full day in the park, the trek through towards the gorilla's resting point is over rough terrain and is not for the faint-hearted, however, this unique once in a lifetime experience is not to be missed. You will return in the late afternoon. Dinner will be served at Buhoma Community Rest Camp.

After breakfast, you will be begin the journey from Bwindi Impenetrable Forest to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Along the way you will stop for a picnic lunch and have time to enjoy the beautiful mountain landscapes that stretch across Uganda. In the late afternoon you will check into Mweya Hostels in the Mweya region of Queen Elizabeth National Park where you can enjoy beautiful views of the lake across to Congo.

Enjoy breakfast at the hostel before departing on a morning game drive through Queen Elizabeth National Park where you will be on the look out for several mammals, including some of the big five. In the afternoon, you will go on a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel for another chance to see some of the wildlife that roam freely in the park. Dinner will be served at the Mweya Hostel Tembo Cafe.

Day 6

Forest Walk and Return to Kampala

Forest Walk and Return to Kampala

In the morning you have a walk through the Maramagambo rain forest for some birding and a chance to see a great bat cave. If you prefer, you can opt to do a Chimp trek through Kyambura Gorge; a unique experience through one of the most beautiful parts of Uganda, this has a slight additional charge. You will then begin the journey back to Kampala. You'll have one final chance to explore the city in the evening.

This is the final day of your Uganda safari tour. Enjoy breakfast in the hotel restaurant. If you have free time in the morning there is an option to do the city tour, had you not had time on the first day. Once you are ready, you will check out of the hotel and will be transferred to the airport in good time to catch your departing flight. Thank you for traveling with us.
