Upon arrival in Fort Dauphin, you'll meet your driver and personal guide who will accompany you during your stay. Then, you'll hit the road from Taolagnaro towards Mandrare on a four-hour drive. The camp is named after the river which is the largest in the southern part of Madagascar, north-west of Fort Dauphin. You'll spend the afternoon getting acquainted with your river camp and enjoying numerous forest activities.

Today, the day is dedicated to exploring the beautiful wilderness that surrounds you, with an opportunity to visit the Sisal plantation and watch the sunset over the 'Avenue of the Baobabs'. The first and majority part of your day will be spent at the Ifotaka Sacred Forest, a protected spiny forest of which 95% of the flora is endemic to Madagascar. The forest is home to a wide variety of wildlife. A visit to the forest is a great opportunity to learn about this unique tribe.

Today is another amazing day dedicated to the exploration of the wild during day and night walks. In the afternoon, you'll have the amazing opportunity to discover the traditional weaponry of Antandroy Tribe. You'll take part in demonstrations of how to use the traditional weapons of the Antandroy Tribe – the Pilitse (a zebu hide slingshot) and Lefona (metal-tipped wooded spear).

This morning, you'll take a walk along the river to see flocks of different species of birds. While birds can be seen all around the camp, this tour of the wetland area will permit you to regularly see painted snipe, teal, malachite kingfisher, and various egrets. In the afternoon, you'll visit the Mandrare Traditional Healers. In the evening, you'll enjoy an outdoor dinner surrounded by baobabs.

Early this morning, you'll be driven along the road back to Taolagnaro to catch a flight back to Antananarivo. Your driver-guide will pick you upon arrival and take you to the hotel for check-in. The afternoon will be dedicated to visiting the old town of Antananarivo. This day tour will end with an aperitif while enjoying the sunset on top of Analamanga Hill.
