7-Day Pristine Rural Sikkim and Darjeeling

Today, you'll head to Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim. Starting from the main market, you'll walk to Neheru Point and the TV tower of Gangtok, then to Enchey Monastery where you can spend some time before going to Ganesh Tok, a viewpoint and a temple outside the city. After a coffee break, you'll walk to the Himalayan Zoological Park, Tsuklakhang Monastery and the Sikkim Legislative Assembly. You'll visit the Institute of Tibetology before spending the rest of the day in M G Marg or Lal Bazaar.

You'll head to Kewzing in the morning. On arrival, you will be greeted with a warm welcome by the villagers of Kewzing followed by a special traditional homely lunch. Later in the afternoon, you will have a short village walking tour to learn more about rural life. Here we may also meet the NGO people who are working for the village development and we will also take you to the local carpet-weaving centre and meet the working women. In the evening, a cooking class can be organised.

Today you will explore the Maenam La peak in Ravangla to enjoy the abundant beauty of Sikkim Himalayas. The trek takes three hours to reach the Maenam hilltop through the Maenam Wildlife Sanctuary. A lush green canopy of untouched rhododendron magnolia forest, small bamboo and abundant flowers and orchids, moss, ferns and creepers make the trek an exciting and thrilling experience.

Today, you will transfer from Kewzing to Darjeeling and stay in a beautiful tea estate resort amid the lush tea garden. On the way, you'll have the option to stop several times at various photo opportunities. After settling into your hotel and enjoying a Chamong tea garden experience to learn important information about tea cultivation, you will have the option to explore the City of Darjeeling on your own.

Today your guide will take you for a full day excursion in Darjeeling to explore the Queen of Hills. You will visit the famous landmarks in Darjeeling and also try for the famous Heritage Steam Train drive. Lunch can be taken in any of the local restaurants, which is optional. You will return to the resort in the late afternoon for a BBQ and bonfire!
