This morning, you'll leave your beach resort behind and make your way to Valladolid, a small colonial city. Shortly after beginning your journey, you'll stop to visit Tulum Archaeological Site, an incredible Mayan site which sits on a cliff overlooking the Caribbean Sea. You'll admire the old temples and structures with the backdrop of the bright blue sea. Later on, you'll continue your journey to Valladolid, the small colonial city where you will spend the night.

This morning, you'll be on the move again to explore the hidden ruins of Ek Balam en route to Chichén-Itzá. This recently excavated site remains a major discovery in Mayan archaeology. It's possible to climb the steps of the pyramids and enjoy a breathtaking view of the surrounding jungle. In the afternoon, you'll take a boat tour in Rio Lagartos, a biosphere reserve where you can find the densest concentration of pink flamingos colony in Mexico before arriving in Chichén-Itzá.

Very early in the morning, you'll visit the archaeological site of Chichen Itza, one of the seven wonders of the modern world. You'll take an exclusive tour between 6-8am before the site is opened to the public and admire the ruins in the peace and quiet as the sun rises. The site, which at its height was the most important religious centre of the peninsula, is the largest archaeological site in Yucatan. Then, continue to the gorgeous colonial town of Izamal, entirely painted in bright yellow.

Today, you'll take a cenote tour. Cenotes are natural pools of fresh and crystalline water, where the sun's rays create spectacular lighting effects. First, you'll head to Rancho Sotuta where your host will take you to a private cenote in the wilderness on foot or by bike. When you come out of the beautiful blue water, a picnic lunch will be waiting for you. In the afternoon, you'll visit the important archaeological site of Mayapan, nicknamed the “mini Chichen Itza”.
