Day 1

After meeting at the airport, you will begin your Serbia trip in the Vojvodina region and its sole mountain Fruška Gora. Here, you’ll visit Krušedol Monastery and then you’ll continue to the town of Sremski Karlovci. Next up, you'll visit the Petrovaradin fortress. Your lunch and the gourmet part of the day is planned in a small wine cellar where the winemaker is also a cook. It will be a delightful start to your trip.

Day 2

On the second day, you will continue the tour towards Sumadija and the town of Topola. On the tip of Oplenac Hill, you’ll visit the Royal Mausoleum, where 27 members of the royal family are buried. From this point onward, you'll spend the day enjoying Sumadija wine. There are three wineries that you'll visit: the royal wine cellar, the prominent Serbian winery Aleksandrović, and as a highlight, you'll have lunch in Winery Rujevica, where homemade cooking will be matched with their wines.

Day 3

The Mighty Zlatibor Mountain

The Mighty Zlatibor Mountain

Today, you'll drive towards West Serbia and the iconic Zlatibor Mountain. The first stop is Stopića Cave, then you'll continue to the village of Sirogojno, where the ethnological open-air museum the Old Village is settled. From Sirogojno, you'll move on to Gostilje waterfall where 20 metres of water drops down to create a wonderful scene. You'll have lunch and finish the day in a rural area at guesthouse Pećinar, which has been managed by the same family for six generations.

After breakfast, you'll head to Mokra Gora town. Here, you’ll experience the most attractive narrow track railway in this part of Europe, the famous Sargan Eight train. When you finish the train ride, you will cross to Bosnia to visit Višegrad with its famous bridge over the River Drina. Here, you’ll enjoy a boat ride on Drina River with a local captain and have lunch on Drina bank. After lunch, you'll return to Mokra Gora and to Kustendorf ethnic village.

This day is reserved for exploring the medieval monasteries of West Serbia. Studenica is considered for the most beautiful Serbian monastery in general. From Studenica, you will head down to the valley of the River Ibar, also known as the Valley of Kings. Here, you'll stop for lunch in a special place, a local tavern which has been run by the same family for 200 years. After lunch, the next stop is the Žiča Monastery from the 13th century.

The Highlights of Belgrade

Day six of your Serbia tour is reserved for exploring Belgrade. You'll be taken to Belgrade Fortress and you'll also visit the House of Flowers, which is the eternal home of the former Yugoslavian president, Tito. Among many other sites, you'll visit the St. Sava Church, the biggest Orthodox temple in the Balkans is dedicated to a true saint who brought autonomy to Serbian Orthodox Church in the 13th century. Finally, you'll visit Zemun, an old part of the city was a separate town until 1934.
