Estonia, apart from Tallinn, is still a relatively unknown destination but on this week-long trip, you will discover the beauty of the country's diverse nature and rich heritage.

You'll travel from the capital from the east down to the south discovering the lifestyle of the Old Believers who fled to Estonia from Russia and visiting National Park of Lahemaa where you'll discover Nordic landscapes, old hamlets and palaces.

On the very first full day of your Estonia trip, you will discover the best-preserved medieval heritage in the European capital city of Estonia. Beginning in the UNESCO-protected Old Town, you'll wander the cobblestone streets admiring the churches and city walls as well as Toompea Palace and Alexander Nevsky Cathedral as you head into the medieval lower town. In the afternoon, you will learn about traditional Estonian architecture and way of life at Rocca al Mare outdoor museum.

Today, you will be travelling east from Tallinn to Narva. En route, you'll stop for half a day of sightseeing at Lahemaa National Park to see Nordic landscapes, rocky Baltic seashore, the wooden hamlets and the historic manors. In the afternoon, on the border with Russia, you will discover the largest fortification in Estonia - the 13th-century Narva Castle and the opposing Ivangorod fortress on the Russian side. You will see how Soviet heritage in Narva city is being transformed.

Today, you will discover different ethnic heritage and lifestyles in Estonia. En route to Tartu, you will see picturesque Russian Orthodox Puhtitsa Convent and as you drive along the Lake Peipus shore, you'll get acquainted with Old Believers region in Estonia. You will see Old Believers Prayer Houses and the museum as well as the unique Onion route with plaits of onions exposed and smoked fish from Lake Peipus. Your day will finish at the Estonian university city of Tartu in the early evening.

Your day will start with a sightseeing tour of Tartu - home of the oldest and biggest university of Estonia. Then, following a two and a half-hour drive, you will reach Parnu, the Estonian summer capital and the biggest resort town in the country. On a sightseeing tour of Parnu, you will learn the history of this port city and take a relaxing walk in the park to see the wide beach of the Parnu bay bustling with yachts at the mouth of River Parnu.

Kadriorg Palace

It will take about two hours to get back to Tallinn but along the way, you will stop at Kadriorg Palace, which is regarded by many to be the most impressive Baroque monument in Estonia. There is a beautiful park surrounding the palace, which is great for taking photographs. Upon your arrival in Tallinn, you will be free for the rest of the day, so you can explore a little further at your leisure.
