This morning, head into Montevideo for a city tour. The main points of interest for your tour will be in the Historic City Center, among them Plaza de Constitucion with the Cathedral and the Colonial Town Hall. You will also see the magnificent Solis Theatre and Independence Square. Then, in the afternoon, you'll have the option to head out on a wine tour to Bouza Winery including a visit to the vineyards, an orientation tour of the process and a wine tasting of the different varieties.

After breakfast, you'll transfer to the Estancia Finca Piedra located in the Province of San Jose at the foot of the Sierras of Mahoma. This wonderful estancia is an ideal place to combine relaxation and several activities like biking, horseback riding through the mountains and hiking. Upon arrival, you will have a short tour of the estancia and then get ready for a tour on a mountain bike through the area. Later on, you'll visit the ñandus and carpinchos that live at the Estancia and explore.

Today, you'll have the day at leisure to enjoy the various activities at the estancia. You may enjoy the various activities offered at the ranch, such as horseback riding, relaxing walks around the area, or take a bath in one of the two open swimming pools or in the closed heating pool. The choice is yours for how to spend your day.

Today, you'll transfer to Colonia del Sacramento, a small colonial city founded by the Portuguese in 1680, at a time when Spain and Portugal were in the midst of confrontations. You'll explore the picturesque streets of the eldest city in the country, declared World Heritage by UNESCO in 1995. You will see the streets of Santa Rita, San Gabriel, the Matriz Church, San Pedro road, the Bastion del Carmen and the famous “Calle de los Suspiros“. You'll then continue by public bus to Montevideo.

Today, you'll drive towards Piriapolis, a coastal city located 19 miles from Punta del Este. The city, built during the time of the “belle époque”, has the look of Europe’s Côte d’Azur. You'll then continue to Punta del Este. The next stops will be at Portezuelo and Punta Ballena for sweeping views up and down the coast). You'll visit the Museum Casa Pueblo, home and atelier of the famous Uruguayan artist Carlos Paez Vilaro. You'll arrive at your hotel in Punta del Este in the afternoon.

Today, you'll have a free morning to explore Punta del Este on your own, then you'll head to one of Uruguay’s most impressive start-up wineries, Alto de la Ballena located 16 kilometres from the sea, off the coast of Punta del Este. Álvaro Lorenzo and his wife Paula Pivel were high-flying MBAs but decided to follow their passion and create a boutique winery. After visiting the vineyards, you will enjoy a wine tasting including cold cuts, selected cheese and homemade bread.
