Discover the beauty and history of Wales on this eight-day tour from London!

Travelling by private car from London, you'll visit the landmarks of Stonehenge, Stourhead Gardens and Bath Abbey before beginning your holiday to Wales. You'll travel through the Wye Valley making several stops on the way, journey through the Brecon Beacons and take the scenic Coastal Way along the Atlantic Coast to Snowdonia.

A day of exploring the Snowdonia National Park will lead into a tour fo the great castles of North Wales including Conwy Castle. After a final visit to Powis Castle, you'll journey back over the border to England to the quaint Cotswold village of Lower Slaughter. On the final day, you'll visit Blenheim Castle and Oxford before returning to London.

Start the day early and travel south-west to one of the most important ancient monuments in the world and UNESCO Heritage Site, Stonehenge. The structure is almost 5,000 years old. The journey continues further west to what is considered to be one of England’s finest gardens, Stourhead. One of the most remarkable landscaped gardens in Europe. From here, you'll continue northwards where you encounter the Georgian elegance that is the city of Bath where you'll have a city tour and stay overnight.

The Brecon Beacons is a mountain range in South Wales and its six main peaks dominate the skyline, the highest of which is Pen y Fan at 886 metres. Perched on a great limestone crag nearly 90 metres above the River Cennen, the dramatic silhouette of Carreg Cennen dominates the skyline for miles around and commands stunning views over the Carmarthenshire countryside. Your holiday to Wales continues westwards through the Brecon Beacons and Carmarthenshire towards the Atlantic Coast.

This morning, you'll start your journey along the Atlantic Coastal, which stretches 180 miles, from St Davids to Aberdaron in the north at the end of the Llyn peninsula. The route takes you past ancient burial chambers at Carreg Coetan and Pentre Fan towards Cardigan and the medieval castle. You'll continue past Cardigan (Ceredigion) Bay to the charming Regency town of Aberaeron. You'll stop for a stroll in Victorian Aberystwyth, before heading into Snowdonia and to Dolgellau.

From Harlech, you'll journey into Snowdonia, the largest National Park in Wales. Apart from the beauty and charm of its high mountains, Snowdonia is a delightfully varied landscape of steep river gorges, waterfalls and green valleys. Weather permitting, you'll take the Snowdon Mountain Railway from Llanberis up Mount Snowdon.

Today, you'll explore Portmerion, Caernarfon, Beaumaris and Conwy Castle. Following the coast, you'll visit the Italianate village of Portmerion. The rest of the day is spent exploring Edward I's great castles of North Wales. Along with Harlech, these medieval masterpieces are designated UNESCO World heritage sites. The castles include Caernarfon Castle, Beaumaris and the magnificent medieval fortress of Conwy, with Snowdonia forming a dramatic backdrop.

You'll tour the most beautiful of the 38 colleges that make up the University. You'll visit discreet gardens, ancient dining halls and chapels. In the later afternoon, you'll return to London where your trip ends.
